CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Looks like FUNI did it again and got yet another well-known title, which on AnimeNfo, tops the list as THE #1 rated show (which is partly why I've wanted to see it - for all the good things I've heard). Anyone else seen it and can give their 2 cents on it?
And yeah... also below in the ANN statement, is the release dates for other new FUNI titles...


"Funimation announced today that they have acquired the license to Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. The series will be released in North America as Rumbling Hearts. Volume 1 will be released in October 2006.

Funimation also announced they will be moving to a monthly schedule (4~5 weeks) for numerous new anime, including Desert Punk (as of volume 2), Negima, Moon Phase and Rumbling Hearts. Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood and Basilisk will be released every 7 weeks. The release schedule will be based on the manner in which Funimation receives the episodes.

Months for new show releases:

Desert Punk - February
Mr. Stain - February
Speed Grapher - July
Basilisk - August
Negima - August (pushed from July for extras)
Moon Phase - Late August
Trinity Blood - September"

Yeesh, Funimation is on a roll here... I don't know if this is a good thing or not, to be honest, as their stuff is hit or miss.

Hmmm I'm still wondering about the "Rumbling Hearts" title... where did they get that from? I do realize it's a romance series, but couldn't they have at least used its literal translation of "Your Eternal Hope/Dream/Wish" ?
Their title just makes it sound like someone's having a heart attack or something involving an earthquake or something^^

I remember seing "Rumbling Hearts" as the subtitle on the PS2 port of the PC erogame.
but yeah, this is a surprising show for FUNi to license, they dont go into this genre much at all. I can only dream that Pugyuru! is up next

I don't know about anyone else, but this kind of make me nervous. Funi use to be known as a...how should I put this..."safe zone". Most of the anime they picked up was pretty clean and never got into anything too bad. This anime though? Bah.

I haven't actually seen Rumbling Hearts myself, but I have read reviews and I believe one mentioned sex and crap...something that disappoints me dearly. The look and stuff of it really attracts me, but I guess I'm just too worried what it really may be like. Just hope to God what I read wasn't completely right...x-x;

Eeeee, Trinity Blood! Much shortage of vampire animes, I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

I've also noticed that viz recently got a hold of some great titles too, like Monster, Death Note, and 20th Century Boys.

My friend raved to me about Kimi ga nozomu eien. But I dunno, I was told there was a sexual scene in it.

Can you elaborate a bit? Liiike... is it actually shown, an off-screen thing, or just hinted at that it happened?

there's nothing graphic and the scenes cut out quickly, any nudity shown is obscured or covered.
[spoiler]three total scenes, episodes 2, 5, and 11 (I cant say fur sure on ep.8, my file is corrupted). in ep.11 it's more implied though, showing only the morning after when one character wakes up in bed.[/spoiler]

i watched the intro of the show and that was enough to make me not watch. everyone was naked in the intro!

Guess you would be totally turned off by Elfen Lied then^^ Although... that was done based of famous paintings that well, happen to involve nudity (artistically, though).

And well then again Magic Knight Rayearth has it's own in the opening...

But this being a sort of romance... thought it was more of a cutesy series but after hearing some comments... one of those I'd have to think about maybe. (And yes I know even though I've seen Elfen Lied which can be bad for nudity but I only watched it for the intriguing plot. :/)

Yeah, kimiga is a nono for me. I really detest fornication, and I guess me getting attached to characters who would do that... Kinda feels awkward.

The nudity in the series ain't that bad, though seems some people have problems with it anyways

It's not a matter of nudity. It's a matter that they actually have sex. (Outside of Marriage) Showing it or not. It really gets me disliking the character.

Are you sure you saw the same intro I saw? Haruka, Mitsuki, and all the other girls have their clothes on the whole time. Though... well, they don't the whole series -_-

Yes, those of you who were told there is sex in the series were not lied to. While I do not condone the act, I do give credit to the creators for being realistic in the way relationships are nowadays, even if it is something like that. A silver lining in those scenes though is that two of the three are actually key character development points, though I don't know how much that'll help sway you to watch this incredibly realistic and emotionally powerful series.

I couldn't understand what lynx was talking about at first either, but as I read your response I suddenly realized: There was a KGNE Promo released by at least one fansubbing group back when the show was new, and the Promo did indeed have a LOT of nudity. I'm 99% certain that the promo itself was actually the intro to the KGNE game.

Two of the three? I'm not sure which one you're thinking of, but all three scenes I recall (and I've seen the series 14 times) are of rather large importance to character development.

I think the one you're excluding is [SPOILER]the first scene in episode 2 with Haruka and Narumi, which is by far the least graphic of the 3, but is rather important within the context of the first 2 episodes. To me, at least, that scene represents the amount of progression within the relationship between Haruka and Narumi, which is actually difficult to determine outside of that one scene, mostly due to the fact that the first 2 episodes cover several MONTHS of time in the story.[/SPOILER]

Yes, never trust the orginal game >_< For example I recently found out that AIR was based on an H game! Yeah, that's right! Anime/movie are decently clean with a scene or two... but yeah don't trust a game that an anime in based on alot of the time^^

That's the one.

I just didn't think it was necessary. Yes, it showed their progression as a couple, but 5 minutes later you see evil Mitsuki trying to keep Narumi from meeting up with Haruka and then.... well, all of you who have seen Ep. 2 knows what happens next. If anything, I think Narumi just wanted to believe they were in love and Haruka wanted to even more.

I'm glad to hear the series have been licensed. I thought it was a pretty good series. It's actually quite a sad story... Although I didn't really care for the pre-martial stuff, so I can say it's probably not for everyone. I enjoyed the series, but at times got really **** off at a few characters and what they have done in a few situations, or things they can't follow through with. On the otherside, i think it protrays how confusing and heart breaking "love" can really be. It's a toughy.
