First, welcome to the boards! We're glad you're here!
Next, I moved your thread to the anime section. I know it can be hard at first to know what section to put a thread in, but just make sure you always check all the forums to makes sure you're not placing a thread where it doesn't belong. Because this thread pertains to anime, it belongs here where it will get more attention!
(And a minor note, if you have something you need to add to your post, you can hit the "edit button and add it. We generally try not to have any one member make two posts back to back.)
Concerning the reviews you're looking for, you can find CAA's reviews of both those series in our review section.
Fullmetal Alchemists
Inuyasha
If you can handle the content mentioned in the Fullmetal Alchemist review, I highly suggest it.

there isn't a review of it in there, but you can search (there's a search box at the top of the forum page) the anime forums for threads titled what you're looking for, so this '
please teacher' thread covers most of what you're looking for.

personally these two shows are my favorites!
course...inuyasha is all about demons and full metal alchemist is about well just liek it says....alchemy. if you can get past that and the cussing (which really isnt all that bad to tell you the truth) they are both great series. i would highly recomend watching them.

Well, InuYasha isn't really about demons. It's a bad translation that nearly turned me away from the show...Good thing I found this site! The word used in the Japanese version of the show is "youkai," which is basically a creature from Japanese mythology. Youkai could take human form and be good or evil, so don't think the show is trying to tell you that demons are both good and evil, because that's not what it's saying. The only real problem InuYasha has is the Buddhist undertones, but it's not done too, too often.
Full Metal Alchemist...I highly, HIGHLY recommend!! It's one of my favorite shows, and for good reason. The storyline is spectacular, the voice acting is unbelieveably good for a dub, and the animation and art style are of superior quality. There are some religious issues you may have with the show at first, since the main character is an atheist, but he is actually voiced by a Christian voice actor, Vic Mignogna (who has been interviewed on this site, by the way). Many people have issues with the first two episodes, since they deal with, not only Edward's (the main character) lack of belief, but also with a "false-prophet"-type character, Cornello; however, since Edward is against this false-prophet (as anyone should be), then I didn't see a problem with it. FMA is a GREAT show, I highly reccommend it!

Why is it that people think Christianity wants its followers to be sheep? Even Jesus wouldn't have tolerated Cornello!

Also, if you can't find a review in the database, then go to the
Review Requests thread and request a review of it there.
And it seems that Please Teacher is down for a review by one of our members already.

That is definitely a common misconception.

Yes, I've heard the same thing from my father. I think it is unlikely that most folks of that age (my dad is 76) would have exposure to Anime other than what they might hear from a younger friend. Since that would likely to be in the context of said friend "dealing with this awful problem with my kids", the anime they are hearing about is, frankly, the same stuff this site is dedicated to alerting people about.
My father was of the opinion "it is all just another way to put more sex and violence on display." I did what I could to explain to him how widely the content of Anime varies, basically telling him that "Anime" was almost as general a term as "Television."
Another "Please Teacher" discussion, a little less hostile is found
here.
