*returns from lurking YET AGAIN*

Recently, I've become reeeeally interested in an anime titled 'Le Portrait De Petite Cossette'. I really like the lolita style (even though I don't wear it), so the costumes are really beautiful to me, and the animation and music looks terrific. The storyline also looks like it could be really interesting, but it also worries me. It seems like it's REALLY focused on the supernatural, using stuff like tarrot cards and psychics to drive the storyline. Also, it seems like it could have a lot of violence in it...

Has anyone seen it? Is it good artistically and plot-wise? What about the content?

It too interested me cause I was really into the EGL at the time, but then Le Petit looked more like a horror with demons and stuff in it so I was like "meh" at the time and just got into Rozen Maiden instead, which isn't licensed :/ So I'll suggest that one to fans of EGL style fashion, since it does have a few supernatural elements, but not quite to the extent of Petit.

I've heard about it, it looks very interesting. I don't think there's any demonic content, but a dark ghostly love story. I've heard it's kind of violent as well. At least it's only one disc.

Yuki Kajiura did the music for this anime.

Yeah, I know Yuki did the music for it--another reason I want to see the anime, actually. I adore the music to .hack, and...even though I'm not a HUGE fan of Noir...I wanted to keep watching the series for the music in it!! XD

The overall plot is very simple--a young artist who owns an antique shop finds a glass through which he can see a beautiful girl and falls in love with her. She's dead, and the only way he can set her spirit free (or something) is by agreeing to the "pact of blood"...which is as violent as it sounds.

I got the DVD last week, and watched it twice...I love it. Very, very avant-garde, but done with such beautiful animation I couldn't help but like it. And the music was a big bonus.

It's very non-trendy, I was surprised. It puts the "E" back in EGL.

I really want to see this one. So it's only one disk long?

I was interested in this...but it sounds, according to some of the reviews I've read, like it has the potential to put the "L" back in "EGL" as well...I'll probably see it once I know more about it.

One disc, three episodes about 50 minutes each. Plus a behind-the-scenes thing. Yay.

At times, it's pretty gory.
