Which title was butchered the most?

That's easy. One Piece.
Sailor Moon gets an honorable mention, though.
QUICK EDIT: Ooh, forgot about CCS. Yeah, they tore that show apart too, more than Sailor Moon, but still not as much as One Piece.

Definitely Robotech but the original version of Nausicaa (Warriors of the Wind cut) was pretty much butchered as well.

I never saw the original escaflowne, but i saw some of the 4kids version, it was kinda cool.

My vote goes for Cardcaptors as the most "butchered." However, if I were to see it as another show in itself, the adaptation is actually quite decent (an unpopular opinion, I know).

He probably meant Fox Kids.

One Piece, definitely. I like to think Inuyasha is rather butchered, but compared to One Piece, CCS ect. its not even close XD

Bandai dubbed Escaflowne, and Fox Kids chopped it up and aired it. 4kids had nothing to do with it.
I voted Robotech.

WHY is One Piece not on the list? It's had 30% of the current episodes aired merged or completely cut out, horrible voice acting, pointless edits and name changes, and needless script changes. It's not even the same story anymore...

I'm glad you said that, I was about to say the samething. It was Fox that chopped it up and Marcross would be the other. Robotech=Macross is one, because they mostly took the story and played cut and paste with it.

I have to go with One Piece because I have heard great things about the original series, but I can't even watch it on Cartoon Network.

Indeed. How ironic...

One Piece. I haven't/don't remember the other titles.

I'd say Escaflowne and Robotech. I haven't seen the original One Piece subbed so I can't say there but from what I've heard it's butchered.

So many choices.I would have voted for the Nausicaa dub but I decided to go with Sailor Moon instead.Even though I have yet to watch it,I have though read that DIC did a rather lousy job on the dub.

Sailor Moon was butchered bigtime. But Nausicaa how was that butchered? Sure it wasn't as detailed as the manga but that's not really possible for a 2 hour movie. I think they did a very good job, but the manga is superior.

Right, and I'd like to point out that "Most butchered" is NOT the same thing as "Worst dub." Some shows have horrible dubs but are unbutchered. This is about the most butchered series, not the worst dubbed series.

You know ADV finally got the rights to do Macross AS Macross right? So long as an uncut title exists, I think the "butchered" label doesn't count. All titles on the poll can be gotten uncut AFAIK.

I once made a topic asking just HOW different the orginal dub movie of it was and never got a response :/ Well, first off check out
here
the orginal VHS cover art :/ Pegasuses etc. weren't even SHOWN on the movie! And I heard they cut out a GOOD amount of the show, maybe about 20 mins or so and retold the plot :/ I still would like to know how that went...
...as for MY choice, I say the most butchered was Digimon: The Movie, making 3 movies into one big one, taking out at least 20 mins of footage (mostly from the third movie) and retelling the plot (once again mostly from the third movie :/). I'd say the other choices were just as bad, but the fact they fused them together bugs me (with in mind, I know they thought no one would come to watch a short 20 min movie in North American theatres and all that, they thoguth it would be better that way :/)

Oh, your talking about the Warriors of the Wind version? I've heard of it and read about it, but have never seen it. Only the reasonably recent re-release (the good version).

Yeah, trying to answer the question on why you thought Nausicaa was on the poll list. Didn't know if you knew about Warriors or not.

I know alot of the anime you have on the list I had seen in my anime club which were subbed. When they dubbed and put them on TV I knew that scenes were cut or moved.
Other series that have been shown on the CN were edited so they could be shown on American TV.
I would guess more of that will happen as more shows come to be shown here.

Tokyo Mew Mew most definitely. Not only was it valley-girl-ized, but the title in of itself transformed into Mew Mew Power. What the heck!?
Duel Monsters may not be butchered, but it is a not-so-subtle rip off of anime staples and plays off stupid anime stereotypes. In addition, I'm fairly *certain* that there was an OC plug in one of the episodes. As if the Japanese people were well-acquainted with Marissa, Seth, Summer, Sandy, Ryan, Kirsten, and the others.

Of the ones I've seen, Cardcaptors was the worst, though I've heard awful things about Warriors of the Wind.
I don't think Robotech was that bad though, as far as the Macross Saga goes. I didn't even bother to watch the second two. For its part, Macross survived relatively unscathed, minus a couple name changes and the transition to the Masters Saga.

My "other" vote is there because this list is too current day to catch the REAL butcher jobs. The first versions released on American T.V. or Film of the the following three would HAVE to outdo any on the list:
1) Battle of the Planets
2) "Starblazers" (i.e. Space Cruiser Yamato)
3) "Galaxy Express 999"
I'm pretty sure none of these are actually available today in the form they were originally brought here in. I'm told that what is available to us today is much better done (I have only seen the "original" screwups and the subs, so I don't personally know about the current day dubs.)
Pop Quiz: In GE999, the theatrical U.S. release in the early 80's, what incredibly ridiculous name was Tetsuro saddled with?

Dragonball and One piece.
Actually, the Cn version was better because it just took away nudity.

I'll throw my vote in with Warriors of the Wind assuming that's you meant by the Nausicaa option. I haven't actually seen it but from what I've heard about the butchering, I don't want to.
Following very closely behind that would be One Piece(extremely inexcusable in this day and age), Cardcaptors, and probably Sailor Moon.
I seriously don't thing Macross/Robotech was butchered as bad as the above titles.

I voted Sailor Moon, it's one of the few series I know well enough to be truly horrified by what editors have done to it. One Peice was too painful to watch. Yu-Gi-Oh! is right up there, too. Yu-Gi-OH! GX has especially horrible moments, like when the idea in a line delivered and the emotions on a characters face obviously do not match, or when they tried to pass off onigiris as pastries.
