Digimon Savers

Does it really need more explaining? This thread has one purpose--to talk about Digimon Savers, the new and fifth series of Digimon scheduled out in a few months. ^^ For those of you in the dark however, this is not a rumor or a joke. At Jump Festa a fifth series was confirmed, then a title was given, and just recently line art for the characters was released.

To view the line art click the link below. Credits to Suzaku from WtW forums for it.

Anywho people, talk, go nuts, whatever. And just to throw in my few cents, it's blantly obvious the new chosen children are MUCH older than the previous series. An element that may give us a taste of mature content instead of happy sunshine rainbows all the time. What even looks cooler is the series may possibly be a continuation of Tamers (season 3). The logo is the same as Tamers as it contains the lighting bolt, and on some Tamers poster in the past there was a footprint in the background so...*shrugs* We all must see what the future holds for Digimon. I personally think it looks interesting.

So talk people!~

WHOA. It's back? Since I used to love the show and it now has more mature characters, I will definitely have to look into this.

Well I suggest stay tuned until about the 21st of next month. That's when the new issue of V-Jump is out, and then more info will be given. ^^

Also watch the official site for it. Right now it's bare, but obviously stuff will pop up in time:

It be interesting if it turns out to be in the same universe as Tamers or if it will be a continuation of it.Also I wonder if it is a new cast or could it be the original Tamers a bit older? We will have to see.And I wonder how soon Toon Disney will pick it up.

A new digimon season!? Woot!!!  Don't really like the title though, it's kind of dumb. Made me think of the candy ^^. I want a continuation of Digimon Tamers!! It;s not fair that it only got one movie!

Edit: erm...I meant Frontier *falls over* Tamers had two movies. Go Frontier!!!

Personally, I would be pretty suprised if they actually did make a sequel to Tamers, seeing that they pretty much gave up on that and moved on to Frontier. That, and it's exactly the sort of thing I would do if these thing I would do if these thngs were up to me, and those usually NEVER happen.

Still, NEW DIGIMON!!!! WAAAHOOOOO!!!!!

[quote="Rocketshipper"]I want a continuation of Digimon Tamers!! It]

But, there were two, weren't there?

If you look at the sketches Momo has linked, it looks like it will be a whole new cast. Granted they're not in color, but it looks to me like the characters are completely new.

I was wondering that too. I liked the idea of the kids becoming digimon, but out of all the digimon I think the ones from the first season were my favorites. And I wonder how much of the series will take place in the real world and how much will be in the digital world?

I wonder what this could be about, letsee the past anime...

-kids team up with Digimon

-kids train/raise Digimon

-kids turn INTO Digimon

*sigh* slightly scared to see where this one goes^^ I wasn't that much of a Frontier fan either :/

Character designs look vaguely like Gundam SEED.

I suppose the guy in the top right could pass as as an older Takato or Henry and the girl could pass for Ruki or Juri, but the kid on the bottom doesn't look like anyone I've seen in the past seasons. Guess we'll see.

I was wondering that too. I liked the idea of the kids becoming digimon, but out of all the digimon I think the ones from the first season were my favorites. And I wonder how much of the series will take place in the real world and how much will be in the digital world?

Frontier's ratings were bad, so I find it highly unlikely that they will go that route. I could see some sort of sequal to Tamers however.

Actually, I'd like some sort of series to tie together all of the Digimon universes with coherant writing.

But, there were two, weren't there?

Yes, there were two movies based on the Tamers universe.

Yay!!! I loved digimon! I liked the first season where they fall into the digital world. Then I liked the one where they would go back and forth between the worlds. Then I really loved the one that followed that one where they swiped cards through their digivices to modify the digimon. .... the following one, where they became the digimon was sort of a letdown to me. It was even demoted to a weekday morning show, how degrading is that? I'm anxious to see what the new one is!!!!!!

Hi! I'm new....

Wow. I hope more info on this is available soon! Don't beat me around for saying this, but I was never a big fan of the first two seasons, but Tamers is my favorite anime of all time. Innocent, yet poignant. Action-packed, yet serene. I loved it. And Frontier? I liked it better than the first two seasons, but it was still just okay. Absolutely terrific, a fifth season! I REALLY hope it's Tamers! PLEASE LET IT BE TAMERS!

...Well...only if the same director is involved. I don't want it botched in the hands of say, the Frontier director. I may have enjoyed his take on the Digi-universe, but I wouldn't like him employing it in Tamers, which is very different and far more realistic and subtle than the candy-coated wild-action, moral-of-the-story filled fourth.

Maybe the kids ARE the digimon in this one?

I saw a few of the preliminary sketches of the new cast, and they look like the older versions of the Tamers group. It's quite interesting.

Do they? I looked at them, and it reminded me of an older version of Matt. Nothing Takato-esque, or Henry, closer to Rika, only it's MALE. Hm. Kazu is about as close as it comes.

WOOHOOOOOOOO!!! MY CHILD HOOD RETURNETH!! ^_^ This is great! I can't wait to see how this series works out..

It would be interesting if it were the Tamers older.I wonder how a older Juri would be like after all she was through, also would she and Takato be dating by now?
Then again who knows?
Could be just similiar in superficial ways and end up being a totally different universe again.

I hope it is something like Tamers. That was my favorite one. It just felt more REAL. It showed the Digimon to be actual characters instead of just the "sidekicks" or whatnot (not that there was a problem with the first two seasons :p ).

I just found all the characters in Tamers to be memorable as they really developed over the course of the season.

Maybe the kids ARE the digimon in this one?

That would be... interesting... o.o

So it's like Wolf's Rainish where the Digimon come from their world into "ours" and turn into people to disguise themselves... :/ I would worry if that was it.

I didn't really like the digimon=human thing. Frontier really ruined that idea...O.o

I wish there was more information about this..but this probably wont even be released in japan for a LONG time and then probably another year for us...maybe even two..they waited a very long time to get Frontier over here if I remember correctly.

Oooh....I thought that Frontier was the last one! It's great that there will be another one...since the standered for dubs has been raised since the original series were released, here's hoping that this series will get the 'Naruto-style' treatment...and not the 'One Piece' treatment.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is the director and voice caster for the 3rd and 4th seasons. If she does this one, I can guarantee it will be good.

The question is whether the original Japanese plot will be good or embarrassing. When Tamers hit I thought for sure Frontier would be terrific with this new idea attached, and it was an improvement to a couple things, but by no means better than Tamers at all. So will Savers be better...or worse? O.O

Of course, you can't have a Digimon season without having the king of all voice actors--the one who put Digimon on the map in the first place--Joshua Seth!

(For those who didn't know, Joshua Seth voiced Tai in season one and two, did a bunch of digimon voices in all 4 seasons, and also did a guest spot as Tommy's older brother in season 4!)

I loved that cameo. I instantly jumped up and said, "Yutaka is TAI!" :)

Of course, Steven Blum will play SOMEONE, for better or worse, (he's been both,) and I really hope Brianne Siddall gets a good part, as she is wonderful.

It would be fun, also, if this is a continuation of Tamers, if they could get Bridgette Hoffman to reprise Jeri. I know she's probably busy, now being a director, and all, but she had the most stunning performance in that show. Playing the crying victim and the screaming villain at the same time, and doing both convincingly...

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn also worked on Shinzo and is more familiar as the voice of
Major Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost In The Shell:Stand Alone Complex.

Joshua Seth also played Kazuki in the Dual dub and also was in Pilot Candidate.

Brianne Siddall played the suck up Remi Levi Strauss on Geneshaft as well as
Tommy on Frontiers.

YOU REMEMBER PILOT CANDIDATE?! I'll be a monkey's uncle! He played Zero Enna, the main character. He also voiced Cyborg 009 on..."Cyborg 009".

Anybody thinks Laura Jill Miller will come back?
(Three packs of Chocolate pocky if anyone can tell me who she voiced!)

Actually, it's coming out in Japan in April.

But, anyway, they came out with the Digimon pictures:
