anime sequels you want

Postby rocklobster » Mon Jan 23, 2006 1:02 pm

According to a recent AI, Trigun has gotten a sequel! Yay! So, I was curious, what anime do you want a sequel for? Here are ones I'd like:
 • Cowboy Bebop--c'mon, who doesn't want a sequel to it?
 • Cyborg 009--Black Ghost can't have been eliminated that easily!
 • Last Exile--There did seem to be more potential.
 • Kiki's Delivery Service--I always thought this would make a great series.
 • Dual--The ending left me wondering what was going to happen in outer space.

*celebrates LOUDLY* When does it come out?

Amen on CB! Um... Honestly, and perhaps I can get a little support on this, notwithstanding the series was driven into the ground. It wasn't in the anime, but I'd like to see Sailor Cosmos addressed in another Sailor Moon anime. She talked about the war with Sailor Chaos, but we never get to see that whole bit, unless there were a few pics in that volume. Besides, she was gorgeous. There's a lot of future stuff Takeuchi didn't explore. Maybe as a movie.
"You've gotta speak about those things you don't currently see as though they already exist. Back in the beginning, God didn't look into space and say, 'Gee, it's dark.' He called light into existence."

Gotta Getta Gundam. ;)

Actually, I would like a prequel to CB just as much as I would want a sequel. A sequel would be awesome, so long as
MAJOR SPOILER
they keep Spike dead.
I want a sequel to Fruits Basket, and see some of the characters from the manga who were never introduced in the anime.

It might be cool to have a sequel to Haibane Renmei, depending on how it would be done.

This is actually feasible, since the manga is apparently winding down to a close in Japan (I think there's only going to be 22 or 23 volumes). It is entirely possible that a sequel series will be made when it is completed. The only problem I foresee with this is the way Akito was portrayed in the anime, much would have to be changed to make it fit with the manga storyline (unless the anime branched into its own storyline, which could be for better or for worse, but honestly I don't see how they could possibly make it better than it is right now).

Has AI been under a rock! That news came out in Oct of 2005.

Edit that: I found this info that I posted at a board last Nov.

Anime news group wrote:The creator of Trigun is in the production stages of a Trigun movie slated to be released in 2007.

But ANN doesn't any info on this stuff as when the movie will come out.

As for CB, the was something going around that they were thinking of doing a prequel, but who knows. The word on the street on this into is about as much worth as Outlaw Star having a sequel. I don't know how many times there was info coming out of Japan that OS would have a sequel.

I think everyone who is a Rumiko Takahashi fan wants her to do a sequel to Inuyasha.
As far as it goes when is Banner of the Stars II going to get to North America?
Oh and also Betterman and Silent Mobius are asking for sequels as too many unanswered questions.

I would have said trigun....

I would like to see another series that takes place in the Last Exile universe. Maybe a prequel series.

I'd like another Gundam Wing movie or series, as long as it had the same characters.

I'm really hoping for a sequel to Victorian Romance Emma.

I would love to see the sequel to Soukyuu No Fafner. I know they've just made a prequel, but who ever craves a prequel? ... I want to know how the story continues or even CONCLUDES. But in anime, it seems a rare thing that we actually get a conclusion to a story, so a continuation of the action would be nice. :)

Genshiken had the same problems as Emma, budget being used up before the series was half over, and it's getting a sequel so I'd expect one eventually. especially once a few more volumes of the manga come out.

for me, a third season of Stand Alone Complex, first two have done well enough to warrant another and theres a good number of manga chapters that havent been touched for the Stand Alone episodes.
Two new UC Gundam shows, one OVA covering the Silhouette Formula 91 manga; and going back to Bandai's original plans of a full length TV covering the Crossbone Gundam manga (which would include the Gundam F91 movie as a precursor).

Aww... I kind of liked Trigun how it was. It seemed to be at the perfect length; not drawn-out, but not rushed. Ah well, I shall still wait in anticipation of the latest installment of the one anime that (I think) is equal to (or greater than) its manga counterpart.

Spriggan begged for a sequel, if not to be made a trilogy. I mean, with a cliff-hanger ending like that? Not to mention there's a whole 12-volume manga series they could have worked with. But alas and alack...

They do have a UC sequel after Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Mobile Suit Victory Gundam. It takes place in Universal Century 0153.

It's been here for a while. :eyebrow:

I don't like the idea of anime sequels very much. Most shows have a plot that runs its course and has a full conclusion. If things are neatly tied up already, don't mess with it. Jubei-chan 2 was an example of messing up a show that already concluded nicely. There are some shows that leave a door open for a sequel though, like R.O.D., that I wouldn't mind seeing made.

Trigun ran its course, but I could see I Trigun movie.

I could see doing a Cowboy Bebop prequel, especially since all the characters back stories really take off from about the same time five years before the show starts.

Tenchi Muyo has been begging for a sequel for a long time, and I'm glad to see their finally getting it done.

yeah, I've seen Victory; but that's another 20 years after the events of Crossbone, and another 10 for the F91 movie.

Hellsing. The manga continues far past where the series ends, and I've heard rumors that there will be OVAs coming out sometime.

Hellsing Ultimate OVA Series Volume 1 coming out in Japan tomorrow.

If they do make another one after events of Crossbone, they will need to make a good one for me to watch it.

Noir is very nicely wrapped up, but if they could come up with a story in which the characters really do get on to some new life, it would be fascinating. Especially since everything is clearly still not alright with the world, and they are still highly capable young ladies, and there is clearly going to be a story of some sort.

I would love to see a "Birdy the Mighty" remake that continued (the one that was done was okay, but too much unnecessary fan service, and it chopped off after four episodes.)

I love Rumiko Takahashi's work, but I do NOT want to see more Inu Yasha.

So did Naota's uniform...somehow he didn't look right at all in an official uniform!

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequal to Paranoia Agent, and I would LOVE to see a sequal to Pilot Candidate...assuming first that there is an ending to the first season that I'm not aware of!
