Anyone here like FLCL/Fooly Cooly?

Personally I LOVE Fooly Cooly. It's one of those REALLY weird animes that don't make much sense, but you love them anyway. Fooly Cooly is really a hilarious anime with plenty of action and plot twists to go around. If you haven't checked it out yet on Cartoon Network, please do and tell me what you think!!

Oh, I LOVE FLCL! It cracks me up so much! It's so... bizzaree and funny! My favorite characters are Haruko and... that spazzy little kitten that Mamimi finds. I ADORE that kitten... it reminds me of my cats when they were young!

Yesss! Haraka Haruko kicks butt!! Or Hara Haruko I think they said was her real name. Neways I love her for her insanity, weirdness, mischeviousness, and other goodies. You just GOTTA love charecters like her! Sides Ta-kun/Naota/Ta was just too wimpy, except at the end. At least he wasn't ever as bad as Shinji from NGE. Ugh, I REALLY didn't like his charecter. I mean normally I wouldn't dare think this, but.....HE NEEDED TO GROW A BACKBONE! BADLY! I mean c'mon! The guy was just....ugh....made me want to violate my semi-pacifist nature against him>.< Lord Kanti is a pretty good guy, for a robot, not to mention he seems to have some good ideals. One of the coolest parts though I have to say is when Ta gains the powers of Atomsk. Now THAT was cool. The last episode and the last half of the second to last ep were the best. Only problem is that I've run through the series a few times, and I'm STILL trying to figure out some of it@.@ Anyone know what Fooly Cooly actually means?o.O; I'd be rather interested to know o.o;

I don't know actually, my my guesses tell me that it has something to do with perverted things.

I love the show though, funny and weird. It's one of the few shows that you're more confused after you watched it...

The terrifying moldy bread incident! In elementary school, Yomi's leftover bread started rotting inside her desk! you can't imagine what happened! Not only that, but the mold had a will of its own, it was terrible! Barricading ourselves in the science prep room, we used spirit lamps and engaged in combat! Then I realized it!! If we only had the bottle of mildew remover from the bathroom, we could destroy them!!

have you tried reading the manga?! there inlies the true meaning of confusion. i personally loved the series. great part about it was that they didn't edit it. well,at least until the 6th ep.but what they edited i can live without. FLCL continues to be one of my favorites.

ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOU GUYS STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT FURI KURI IS !?!?!

I love Furi Kuri and the fact that Hara Haraku does battle with a nice guitar. I have no idea what it means and I wonder if the creators even know. :eyebrow: I think they just wanted to showcase this really wild and fantastic character from space.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

To be exact, it Haru Haru Haruko. Or thats one of her aliases. I don't remember what her "real" name is.

As for FLCL, it don't think we're meant to know. Even Naota doesn't know and he's the star.

^_^ XD O.o Furi...Kuri?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Naota: Haruko?

Superior Raharu: Oh no. I'm not Haruko. I'm Haruha Raharu's superior. Superior Raharu. She disobeyed my orders and fell in love with a boy on earth. She's probably looking to meet up with the fugitive pirate king Atomsk somewhere in outer space.

Naota: Nuh-uh

excerpt from FLCL #2 pgs.186-187

so now we have haruko's real name. at least according to the manga.

Bingo. I'm quite certain that's what the eyebrow guy calls her.

I just watched the last two episodes today, and I understood almost everything cept for what FLCL really meant. You really can't blame us people who only watched the anime which was fast-paced, and couldn't take our time like you can when reading the manga. As far as I know Furi Kuri is something perverted, and I explained it bluntly to my friends and made the friend who owned it look like he likes buying perverted anime... oops.
We were meant to live for so much more.

I didn't think it was anything perverted, though the grandfather made it out to be. When it gets down to it it seemed to be something to do with imagination. A curious disease only a few people can get that allows them to channel atomsk. Or it is the opposite of what i said and the eyebrows guy had FLCL which blocked what Haru was looking for.

well. there ya go. my take.
Why does the business of growing up - one's recollections of growth itself - have to be so tragic? I still haven't found the answer. I doubt if anyone has. When I finally reach that stage at which the placid wisdom of old age, with the dry clarity that comes toward autumn's end, occasionally descends on a person, then I too may suddenly discover that I too understand. But I doubt whether, by that time, understanding will have much point.Yukio Mishima
