Who else here likes this anime? I'm a big fan of the video games and I think it's a pretty decent show. Which version do you prefer? Japanese or English? (I personally couldn't stand the English dub)

I'll only say this once:
Import the Japanese DVD's! Stay away from the dub! It's evil!

Having been so used to the Japanese version, when I saw the dub, I almost had a heart attack. THEY TRIED TO TURN IT INTO A STINKING CARTOON!

EDIT: Let me elaborate on this: The original music was cut out to make room for a crappy orchestrated soundtrack to make it sound as if it was an American cartoon. They added quite a few cartoony sound effects along with it. PLUS: The Japanese version has the original voices from the Japanese versions of the SA video game series. The English dub does not retain any of the voice actors from the English dub of the game. They used their own voice actors. It's a bit disturbing hearing Pokemon character's voices coming out of Sonic character's mouths.

ANOTHER EDIT: Let me say this loud and clear: I can't stand heavy editing. It ticks me off when a company like 4kids takes perfectly good anime and alters the original work.

4Kids is considered the worst of the anime dubbing companies, correct?

I've watched the dub. Somewhat enjoyable although the dialogue seemed childish at times.

I would consider 4Kids the worst because of all the anime they liscense and mangle. To the average viewer who hasn't seen the Japanese version, they won't know what's been changed around. But I've been watching the series via Internet since it's been airing in Japan, and seeing the first episode of the dub was like a slap in the face. Another thing: Chaos Control is an energy warp created by the Chaos Emeralds. 4Kids obviously never played the games, as the dub acts like Chaos Control is in fact Eggman's base.

Funimation I have some respect for because they seem to care enough about the hardcore fans to release the Uncut Japanese versions of the anime they dub, no matter how horrible the dub is.

I like it alot. But I like the games better. If they took it off for D04 or something, I would feel no pain. Actaully, I woul be overjoyed because D04 rox! *is a HUUUUUGE digimon fan*

I didn't think the dubbing was that bad actually but then again I've never had the chance to see the Japanese version. I would have to say though that the movie "Sonic the Movie: Scrape your knuckles, Catch some tails" had some of the worst voices ever.

I havn't seen much, but my friends in the "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!" group love the show and have told me all about it. I'll have to see for myself sometime.
