i bought the whole episode collection of samurai x and got addicted to it. I watched it several times, but only until the shishio part. this week, i was watching the part where aoishi fights kenshin in shishio's castle. I noticed that the drawings seem different. Judging by the drawing style, the characters' drawing looked kinda similar to saber marionette j. i don't know if anyone else noticed this. i just want to make sure if im not out of my mind.

You're not losing you marbles (yet). Reflection's flashback sequences are re-animated (on a higher budget too). I'm not sure about the whole Saber J Marionette thing, but yeah. There you go. ^.^

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I noticed it too. Haha, I was so dissapointed in the Aoshi/Kenshin round II fight because of that! XD The animation quality in that part was so low...Lots of cheap animation tricks instead of good, flowing movements. But anyways, it's definitely a different art style. Maybe another company took over? Who knows, but it does look different that it used to.

Kenshin scared the crap out of me in that battle...when he stood up and his eyes were white and he was like "hhhhhhgghhhhh...hhhhghhhhhh" o_O I thought he was like a zombie or something...

I remember renting the final battles in RK shishio arc for me and my friends slumber party, as she loves rk. By the end, we were laughing at how much worse the battle scene animation was then the talking/plot scenes. Does anyone notice that in the battle scenes near the end of the shishio arc their chins would get bigger? Me and my friend, as well as my little sister couldn't stop laughing at that.

Ah memories... We also threw pocorn and paper balls at the screen whenever shishios right hand man appeared. (what's his name?) And we all cheered for our fav guys. Mine is Saitou, Friend=Aoshi, LSisters=Sanosuke. Poor Kenshin, he had nobody cheering for him.

LOL, Satojima Houji is the guy you're looking for. That's pretty funny, though! XD

he helped in hurting Kenshin at least a little bit. I remembered that time when shishio lost then Houji started crying, then he ran and bumped kenshin, splattering some of his blood. When me and my brothers saw this, we cheered for Houji! At last, he did something physical offense

My weirdest memories of Houji is when he started chopping on those pipes. "Die, Battousai, Die!" and their local language version, "Masawi! Masawi!" (Which is like saying "die!" is medieval English.)

Yes, the animation quality fluctuates throughout RK, don't worry about it.

Houji is the coolest guy in rk. just look at how his head resembles a goomba.
