About three years ago, Comic book Universe Battles (a website that does battles between comic book characters with the result decided by readers) did a battle between Goku and Superman. They never posted the result because their page crashed and they gave up even after they got it working again. So I was curious. Who do you think would win. Personally, I'd vote Superman. He's smarter and he wouldn't stand there waiting for Goku to raise his power level like all the idiot villains on DBZ seem to do.

Also which superman?

Presuming it's not the current superman I'd put my money on Superman-- the guy from the 50's-70's could basically do anything... literally. Besides Superman is also smarter.

Now Bizzaro vs Goku-- that would be an even battle of strength and wits

At his highest level, Goku could easily destroy the planet. Superman has never demonstratedthat kind of power, but raw power is not the same when it comes to winning battles.

Both are gifted fighters and both are nice guys. Even still, I doubt Superman would simply wait around long enough for Goku to level up much past super-saiyen level 1. He'd need to get to at least level two to match Superman in strength.

I am with termyt Goku could destroy superman if he were to get to at lest lvl 2 maybe at lvl 1 but then agion superman is strong to start it would be a good fight

Well, since Goku can be brought to life with the Dragon Balls... I think, or can it only be done once, or can someone jsut make them more powerful again? XD... And all you need is some kryptonite to weaken Superman... Then Goku will need to take up two episodes to power up... Anyone have a coin?

Dude, hands down it'll be Goku. They're both aren't from earth and have supernatural powers. But when you think about it, Goku is much faster, he has the instant teleportation and has more strength. So, my bet would be on Goku.

by the end of dbz, goku was pretty strong even without charging up.
well, i don't wanna go into details. i'd leave it all to perspective since thats what its gonna boil down to for everyone. anyways, my vote is on goku.

Just so long as Goku didn't throw a gun at Superman. Bullets are fine, they bounce right off, but throw a gun at him and he'll duck every time.

Faster than Superman? That would have to be pretty fast, but DBZ isn't my strong point.

In what universe would this take place, and would Kryptonite even be available?

I say my Super Saiyan Man Goku. He's so stronge and selfless. Oh wait, so is Super Man. I'm not to found of the SM from back in the day, but the one of today is cool. I still love my Goku!

Yeah, couldn't agree more with you, lol. But Goku does have cooler hair than Superman, but Superman is, well, super.

This is a decidedly silly topic due to fundamental differences in the universes and styles of the two characters, but that doesn't mean I won't participate.

Just taking the characters as they are, I'll have to go with Goku. He pretty much has every power superman has, in addition to some others. However, that isn't really a fair comparison because of the different universes. If we put Superman into Goku's world and converted him equivalently, I think he'd defeat Goku due to better use of his power in addition to higher intelligence.

Now, a cliche answer is also in order. This presumes that they must fight, not that they would both have no reason to fight each other (which they wouldn't). If this is a Superman story, Goku would appear to be stronger and beat up / chase around Superman a few times before Superman would discover some weakness and then defeat Goku. If this is Dragonball Z, Superman would originally be extremely powerful and cause other characters to spend entire episodes trembling and making their eyes wobble. In a little bit of time the other characters would have equaled him in power and then someone even more powerful would appear (Batman?).

Agreed, UC. Though, if I'm correct in thinking, Superman is suppose to be invincible to all but kryptonite, while Goku isn't invincible at all. He can be stabbed, shot, hit, and smashed, but it just does less than it would to a normal person.

I am not an expert on Superman, but I know this much. It was said of the original Superman, "nothing short of a bursting bombshell" could hurt him. In other words, the original was actually a bit weaker than some incarnations (nor could he fly). The next form of Superman was actually the most powered, I believe, and I think he was only effectively invincible (that is, there was nothing powerful enough to hurt him).

Keep in mind Goku can bleed. While in the classic Superman comics, the Man of Steel couldn't

That is indeed a hard one. UC did a good job of stating the facts (though as he pointed out not only is such a fight incompatible but neither one would have any desire to fight the other)

Anyway I would have to say that athough Goku is definatly more powerful (and cooler in my book) Superman (though not the brightest bulb in the fixture) is not THAT stupid and wouldn't wait around for Goku to finish his yelling...um...I mean powering up.

But lets assume that Goku is already powered up, so I say:

Goku hands down

Silver age Sups hands down

Kryptonite shouldn't be an issue unless, during the fight, they happen by some by coincidence. Using kryptonite to weak Superman is a dirty trick and Goku would never resort to dirty tricks.

The DBZ guys seem to like fighting so much that they will go out of their way to make the fight a good one so, if Goku is indeed much stronger than Superman, he wouldn't use that extra strength. If Superman's strength = Goku at level 2, then Goku would not go to level 3. (Otherwise, Cell wouldn't have lasted 12 episodes).

Superman, on the other hand, really doesn't like to fight (making this scenario highly unlikely to begin with). So, once he gauge's Goku's abilities, he's more likely to go all out.

Considering Superman's nigh invulnerability, and the propensity of the Z warriors to take forever to do anything, I give it to Superman.

A little off subject, but it's like when Luffy was fighting Crocodile in OP. Crocodile kept going for the usual "You will never defeat me," line, but Luffy kept attacking so much that he never game the chance to do it (actually, that made it a pretty funny scene ).

If it were an eating contest Goku hands down!
Otherwise it be pretty close,although in the end it would be Goku winning
since he never quits no matter how tough his opponent is.
