Why do people hate Sailor Moon SuperS?

I'm just wondering why people hate this season of Sailor Moon so. This is one of my favorite seasons of Sailor Moon (along with Stars; one episode I saw of it and I fell in love!) This season has a lot of great qualities and not only that it is one of the cleanest seasons. I actually have a list of why its good but I'll post that later. I want some of your guys thoughts of whether its a good or bad season and why.

I only saw the movie, but I hated it for the simple reason that it was boring. That and I never liked Chibi-Usa.

I think a lot of folks who don't like Sailor Moon so much point out that every episode is essentially the same.
I would say that if Sailor Moon has a Scrappy, it's Chibi Moon.

I don't hate Sailor Moon Super S.Heck,I haven't even seen regular Sailor Moon let alone Sailor Moon Super S,so I'm the wrong person to answer
this.
But to be honest it can't possibly be as bad as some of the stuff they have
on CN these days.

I'm a Sailor Moon fan. I liked The original season, SMS and SM Stars, but disliked SMR and SM SuperS
SuperS seemed to be the least creative season of them all. While there were plot shifts in the other seasons,SuperS was just a prolonged repitition of the same story.
That's my opinion anyway

I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan, and SuperS is my least favorite season. There are many reasons for this:
1. Chibiusa. She was comic relief in S, so I didn't mind her there. However, she was the main focus of SuperS, and that irritated me.
2. Fish Eye. Yeah. He's too weird.
3. The final attack used to off bad guys. I thought Moon Spiral Heart Attack was bad, it has NOTHING on this one. Two parts, and both parts combined last about a minute and a half. This means less time for plot. Speaking of plot...
4. BAD PLOT CONTRIVANCES. Chibiusa and Usagi's transformation had to be done together. So there were many bad plot contrivances used to get the two of them together before they could transform...because if one of them was by herself, she wouldn't transform. Because there were no single character transformation scenes for Usagi and Chibiusa.
5. Repetitiveness. Yes, as termyt stated, there really is nothing different about any episodes of SuperS. In every other season, there were significant plot points placed throughout the episodes (the only exception being the first half of S, which even though it is my favorite season, I don't like the Kaolinite eps). SuperS didn't have that, making it the same thing over and over again.
Anyway, that's my opinion, so don't feel like I'm beating you over the head or anything. ^^

Here's my list of defense points for SuperS.
1. Good character development. The Dream Mirror idea essentially is a good characterization plot device and gives even those annoying filler characters good development. Dare I say it, its better than pure heart crystals which all they say about the person is they are pure hearted. Where as dream mirrors allow us to know there dreams.
2. Chibi-usa becomes less annoying. I'll be the first to admit she can be nerve wrecking however in this season she's given such good development that makes her seem more mature rather than annoying. you might even start liking her. But if you still don't I can understand. While on the subject I believe turning Usagi into a mentoring character really helped this. (even though the mentoring moments are few still priceless.)
3. Originality. Plot wise it may not be creative but everything else sure is. Point said
4. Good filler characters. Sailor Moon SuperS has some actual good filler characters like Hiroki (love that episode.) Though as with every other season it has some annoying ones too.
5. Excellent animation. self explanitory
6. With the exception of Fisheye a good clean anime season.
7. Good humor. A lot of people say this is the only thing it has going for it.
(you don't have to agree with me on these points by the way)
Given these points now what do you think?

I still say S is my favorite season. Sorry, but no Saturn = me no likey as much.
However, the outer Senshi DID show up in the SuperS manga, and Chibiusa was less prominent there. Also, Fish Eye wasn't queer and there were no plot contrivances.
Not only that, the Amazoness Quartet turned into the Asteroid Senshi in the manga (Vesta, Pallas, Ceres, and Juno). This was strangely absent from the anime, though that may be due to the fact Saturn wasn't in that season of the anime (kicks SuperS anime).
And yeah...with SuperS, I never felt any real sense of impending doom. With S, it was the end of the world at stake. With Stars, it was the lives of the Senshi. With R, it was the future as they knew it. SuperS just never really felt like anything earth-shattering was going to happen, at least not until the final few episodes.
Sorry, but I still really dislike SuperS. ^^;;

another reason a lot of people give for disliking Super S is the absense of the Outers. After they stole the spotlight for most of S the void they left behind was kind of prominent. For me however Super S is my 3rd favorite season behind Stars and S. Rini was more annoying than in S, but she wasn't close to being as bratty and useless as she was in R, and I found all the Super S villians to be highly amusing. I loved the Amazon trio's method of hitting on their victum before they stole their dream mirror. The music and animation were also quite good *listens to "Rashiku Ikimasho"*, and there were mny episodes that I really love, like the one where Ami-chan got her new attack. You guys might find this website interesting.

It'a called "In Defense of Super S" and it's really good.

Its okay if you don't agree with me and I see that you also bring up many good points. The lack of Sailor Saturn turns me off because besides Venus she was my favorite. And I understand where you get the lack of impending doom theme. Plus, disreguarding Michiru's and Haruka's "lifestyle" I liked the outers as well. Seeing them absent in the series is a bit sad. By the way I've been to that site already rocketshipper it is a good site.

I forgot to mention that the lack of Asteroid Senshi (aka Sailor Quartet) annoyed me about SuperS too.

Though the anime was no stranger to cutting out characters anyway.
In Stars, they cut out Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon. They also cut out Sailors Phobos and Deimos.
The anime and manga both mention many times that the two crows that hang around Rei at the temple are named Phobos and Deimos. In the later chapters of the Stars manga, it turns out that they're actually Sailor Phobos and Sailor Deimos who have been watching over Rei in disguise. Even more interesting, they're from the same planet Sailor Lead Crow is from.
And last, let's not forget that Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne were cut as well.
And then there's Sailor Astarte, but she was only in the musicals...

Yeah its a shame they didn't make it. I don't think Stars is one of my favorites anymore because I can't find any non bootleg dvds. I guess I'll have to come to the fact it will never come to America.

I enjoyed season one myself, it had a really cute premise with characters that had good chemistry/development, and I liked how the story unfolded into more of an epic as the series progressed. The revelation of the Moon Princess, meeting Queen Serenity, learning about their past lives, Tuxedo Mask's identity, Mamoru turning evil, and the entire lead-up to the final battle was GREAT. So romantic and tragic and beautiful and exciting all at once.
At least there was a suspenseful plot line throughout BSSM, the rest of the story arcs just seemed like 1000 episodes of corny Power-Ranger-esque "Monsters of the Day" fights with truly ridiculous bad guys. And sadly, the characters got really bland really fast. Everything I originally loved about them was pretty much gone. Even the romantic parts became unoriginal and forced. The only time anything got interesting were during the last 5 episodes of the season, due soley to the action scenes and not much else.
However, I've never seen SM Stars, so I can't give an honest opinion on that one.
The only thing that kept me stuck to the SM series was wanting to find out if there were senshi from other planets, and after that I got bored really fast.
I think Sailor Moon would have done SO much better as an OAV than as a series. Not to mention they'd have had better animation.

You are right that it is 200 episodes of the same plot. If that was all it was, I would have bailed by the second disc of season 1. What kept me going was how funny it was. This was not a series that was pretentious... they even made fun of their own cliches. This is why I liked it.

Amen to that. Sailor Moon is pretty much the only anime that I can still go back and watch for the umpteenth time and not be tired of it. It's simply a show that I can relax while watching. It's the same old, same old for nearly every episode, but the predictability and, of course, the comedy, make it a sweet relief. Sort of like "I Love Lucy" reruns. They never get old.
And I would have to agree that SuperS is not my favorite season, but that still doesn't mean I dislike it. I still love watching SuperS, despite Chibi-usa's presence and (even worse, in my opinion) Pegasus. I never could stand that horse...

I thought it was the most creative in my opinion. I find Greco-Roman mythology interesting, and this season seemed the most mythology-heavy; with Pegasus, Helios, Elysian Fields, etc., etc.,
I loved SuperS best of all the seasons. I liked the music, the animation was better, and the attacks were very mythological-based.
