The guns of Scrapped Princess

So, how many people here noticed the overwhelming use of names of firearms in Scrapped Princess?
You've got Raquel, Shannon, and Pacifica
Casull (casullarms.com) leaving the city of
Manurhin on a cart pulled by horses named
Makarov and
Dragunov. Of course, Leo has a well-armed horse too, named
Parabellum.
And then there's the former knight Doyle
Barrett.
Meanwhile, they run into a kid named Christopher
Armalite, and a Winia Chester (
Winchester)
Then you've got the whole religious issue of Lord
Mauser v. the Devil Lord
Browning.
And of course you've got the Peacemakers,
Galil,
Cz,
Steyr,
and
Socom.
(note: all links are to world.guns.ru unless specified otherwise. It's more convenient that way. And when a name applies to more than one weapon, I've only linked to one anyway. I'm lazy like that.)
Hmm, maybe I should mention that Giat is an arms manufacturer as well.
So, have I missed any? (Perhaps I should pull out the series again to make sure I remember them all.)

What can ya say the Bones guys love their firearms. In every series they've put out with guns they've always paid special attention to the guns used, the sounds, and the appropiatness of them in situations.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that.
I'm more of a Sig Saur fan myself. ^^ They make the grips nice and small for women's hands.

Now i'm getting scared. The average person in Australia wouldn't know that!

She is from Texas.
Well give me a good old Glock 19, Colt M1911, or a Baby Desert Eagle, any day of the week. Reliability, accuracy, and comfort makes a good handgun.

Frankly, I don't think the average American would know this either. I don't know any Texas mom's who would know this fact from PTA. I had to study guns and shoot them in a past life. ]please[/i], let's not get into a discussion about the viability of gun ownership and take this further off topic. -__-)\
Anyway, nice to meet you fellow anime parent. I'm sure now you think all of us Americans are just a bunch of rootin' tootin' cowboys... and girls. *laughs*
Back on topic, I thought this name, Winia Chester (
Winchester), was the most creative. ^__^

I never would have picked that up ... I hardly know a pistol from a rifle. ^^; That's cool that someone noticed, though. ^^

Absolutely not! Sorry

You too, it seems we're about the same age too
but no, I don't think all Americans are cowboys... just a large portion of 'em ]

Very creative indeed
even though I know very little about guns, and have never even seen a handgun up close, I did pick up on a few of those names

I'm gonna start a 'Guns and Gun Handling in Anime' thread.
(That way I hope it will stay on topic.)
I am a bit of a 2nd Amendment fan myself. and I noticed the gun names in Scrapped Princess immediately. I learned a lot about the names because a couple of my older (and $$$) friends collect historically significant pieces (which are as unlikely to be fired except as a rare test or a special occasion - consider of whether you would 'test' an original Muromasa blade or a Bizen sword if you wre its owner.)
So relax.

I don't play very many computer games, but one game I -do- like is "Fighting Steel," which is fleet-to-fleet WW2 fantasy combat. (I am a bit of a WW2 naval architectur buff ...) but I would love to try out Rally Vincent's M249SAW from Gunsmith Cats. The ol' Browning M2 .50cal is a little tricky to set up, but a kick in the pants to fire.
I have twice seen an MG42 (Gin Roh) - one in a collector's collection, and another who actually took his out to TEST. This is an 8mm Mauser x 1200 rounds/min LEAD HOSE. A few years back I saw one US-legal, NFA transferrable MG42 go for about $40K, and one M249SAW for about $18K.
I would possibly like to make a D/D using an "ATF Form-1" one day. I hope I can do so while it is still legal - and please, while we're on this, OBEY THE LAW, ( Rule #1!) and Be Careful (Rule #2.)

Nice bit of research there, Kaligraphic.

I think it's amusing that many around the world think of us as both yankees and cowboys when here in the states no one is likely to claim to be both.
