Alright, where do you think is the best place to buy anime? I've been looking around a bit, but I want to hear what everyone else thinks (by "best," I mean great prices, good service, good selection, etc, etc)

eBay can rock depending on whether or not you're good at discerning between bootleg crap and the real deal. I've been really satisfied shopping at http://www.rightstuf.com as well. They have weekly specials which are sometimes dirt cheap. They also get stuff in on time, and at Christmas their 12 days sale is awesome! Those are my two main venues for buying anime, and occassionally at Best Buy.

Rightstuf.com or Digitaleyes.net are the best, in my opinion. They have great prices, coupons, etc.

And if you're looking for great deals on Ranma or Urusei Yatsura DVDs, Overstock.com has perhaps the best prices. I don't think they realize what other people are charging for those types of items. (This may be unncecessary, but I thought I could just throw it in  ).

I'm partial to http://animenation.com, Best Buy, and rightstuff. Animenation's DVDs are a little pricy, but all their stuff is legit and their customer service is very good.

They use to be my recommendation. However, at present I have about 4 items that are approximately 2 1/2 months backordered, one that no longer shows up on their merchandise list. I also canceled an order about 3 months ago that I payed with a money order, still no refund.

I've switched to RightStuf and purchased their Got Anime discount card which gives you an additional 10% off with the order. Plus if you order about $50.00 worth the shipping is free. I don't know if that is a special offer or if it has gone back to $100.00 yet. I did a check recently on an order I was going to place with BestPrices and overall the order came out the same with RightStuf considering BestPrices shipping fees.

I've looked at their website and they do have some good stuff.Although
people should be aware if they go there that they also sell hentai along
with other anime.

Unfortunately I think that's a given for most anime retailers now adays. =/ They do keep it in a seperate section though, which means it's very easy to avoid.

http://www.amazon.com, but you should be sure the "used" say "official US release" or they might just be bootlegs.

Thanks for the replies!

Actually, I found a pretty interesting comparison site called pricegrabber.com, but it didn't have dvdpacific.com on it, which ended up having the best prices for the stuff I wanted :thumb: .

(for those that don't know, a shopping conparison site will check the prices and shipping of items in stores on thier database and put them all in a chart for you to compare, along with ratings and such.)
