Who is your favorite character designer and what shows have he\she worked on?
My favorite character designer is Keiji Gotoh, who happened to have worked on characters for Nadesico and Gatekeepers. My second favorite would have to be Makoto Uno, who did the anime designs for the Love Hina and Stellvia characters.

hmm good question
For Shounen I would say Nobuhiro Watsuki for his Rurouni Kenshin works
For Shojo I would Say Yu Watase..her bishonens are soooo awesome looking.. my only complaint with her is..their faces look very very similar..
I also really enjoy ABe's works too..

I second Keiji Goto, and tack on Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Evangelion, .hack, FLCL) as well.

Oh, I forgot to mention Mokona Apapa who is a member of CLAMP. She does pretty good work of drawing the manga characters herself, as well as the studios that adapt CLAMP's work for anime.

Hayao Miyazaki - I'm starting to be able to tell his designs out from other animators.

Ah!!!! Harlock!!!
Um... I really miss Clamp's art. So maybe they're my favorite. I agree Yu Watase can do some really nice men.

I second Range Murata and Shirow Masamune. Also, I like Yoshitoshi ABe, who did Serial Experiments: Lain and Haibane Renmei. He does a good job of pulling of an "innocent" look in his characters. Miyazaki rocks for sure! Sadamoto I believe was mentioned earlier, and he's amazing as well!
