Anime Soundtracks...

I think Anime Soundtracks is very good music, and that is what I listen most to now...I've downloaded a lot of it, but prefer to buy
So, could those of you who know about shops that sell legit stuff post them here?
And is it possible to get them to a more normal price, than what Amazon.com have? It's the only place I know about now
PS: If you knew some european shops, that would be great
Not sure if I get my parents into ordering them, though, and then I have to wait till next year to get them

I always go to ebay for anime DVDs and soundtracks. I just make sure that the seller has 98% positive feedback or more, and to read their reviews first to make sure it's all good. Also, ALWAYS check the shipping and handling. They sell swords and stuff for one dollar, but the s&h is over seventy dollars!
Coconuts sells them, but that's the only real store I know about that does. (Around where I live, that is.)
I love my Kenshin and Fruits Basket soundtracks. ^^ And right now, I am hunting down a Gundam SEED one.

Anime music is very often fantastic. I listen to it more than anything else. If it has a domestic release, I'll buy it in a store or through an online place, but if it's only in Japan, I buy it off of

Does it cost much to get them from
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp? And it's a "safe" place to buy from (like you have bought from them several times without troubles?)?
EDIT: If you know any sellers of Anime Soundtracks on eBay, please tell me...Don't thrust it completely...People that sell like .hack//SIGN Complete on 3 discs etc

I was watching Voices Of A Distant Star again today and it really reminded me of just how much I love the music. I need to get the soundtrack.

It can be expensive, depending on the CD (Ex: I bought my Birth of Mewtwo CD there for $36.50 ($29.97 + the shipping), but it's all worth it (don't forget it's being imported from Japan
). I've bought from them several times with no problems, and I highly recommend them, but do give it some time to arrive, since again, it's coming all the way from Japan. ^^

Depends on wat kind of music you prefer. With me, I go for the Appleseed and Samurai Champloo stuff. GITS:SAC is pretty good too.
http://www.amazon.com has alot.

When I'm importing, if the price of what I buy is over about $30, I get extra taxes for it. Hope that's without shipping, as I can then get it to a fair price. Or else, I have to pay very high prices for it ^^
Well, then CD Japan it is when that time comes, when I find a way to buy them...No way I'm going to get my parents to import from Japan -_-

It's not hard, you just order from it like you would any other site, if I recall.

Hmm... I, too, buy from Suncoast, but if I want a hard-to-find or untranslated cd, I go to a little shop owned by Vintage Stock called The Book Barn. In fact, yesterday, I bought the Princess Mononoke soundtrack(only 10 bucks!) and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles soundtracks, both of which were never released in the US, and the covers and booklets are almost completely in Japanese. So cool!

Imports get taxed in Norway? Might make it unaffordable.
In the US at least, importing is relatively painless-- though shipping costs are murder
Animenation does some imports.

I don't know about the FF soundtrack, but PM was released, officially, in the US back in '99. I just checked BN.com
As for where to get stuff in Norway, sorry, I don't have a clue...

At that price I'd suspect they were "Son May" discs-- illegal copies made in Taiwan (legal there because Taiwan didn't sign the Berne Convention, but illegal everywhere else). The average legit import runs about ¥2800 and after imprt fees, runs over $30 apiece.

I second that eBay is a great place to get soundtracks, and usually for relatively cheap. While I haven't been exposed to a ton of different composers, Yoko Kanno is perhaps my favorite for as far as what I've heard! The Wolf's Rain soundtrack is excellent. I also have the Witch Hunter Robin soundtracks that are great, though not composed by Kanno. The FF Piano Collections are magnificent. I have FFVII-X-2. I don't know a whole lot about the taxing issue, but yeah you definitely want to make sure the shipping is reasonable. Right now I'm working on getting the three Rahxephon soundtracks, and maybe the one for the movie. Good luck to you!

AnimeNation has a good deal of soundtracks...Can shipment get any cheaper than $10 for a normal CD (i.e. not single...something like .hack//SIGN OST1)?

Looks like legit products are $15 for domestic versions (US licensed) and $32 for JP products.
Anything cheaper than that, I suspect is a bootleg.

Most is about $30 at both AnimeNation and CD Japan...Fair price for a CD, but $10 extra in shipment makes it a bit more expensive...Guess I can't get it cheaper than a total of $40 for a normal CD (shipping included in that price)? ^^

Oh-- you meant shipment... I thought you meant CD price. Never mind then.
You might be better off with cdjapan then, because I think part of animenation's price is shipping from JP to the USA. Might be worth comparing if they ship to Norway...
