Yep.
Actually, I was trying to do a search on the post a new thread thing, to find out if there was anything about Captain Harlock, which I will be seeing two episodes of soon, and there is also a newish movie about him being hunted down by someone named Zero, which we can rent now.
So I wanted to find out more about him / it / them. But I started a thread. Urgh.

The actual title is Herlock, but it was changed.
I love Leji Matsumoto characters.

I will take advantage of having the thread now, and ask: did you see and like the movie? How about the old episodes?
My brother said he saw six episodes that were really boring. But I think it looks like it could be interesting. Our video store just got a lot of 'new' stuff, and these were there. (It's a 'new to you' sort of thing. Some of the stuff is obviously old VHS copies they got somewhere.)
The animation style (on the episodes) looks very old. I don't know if that's a plus or a minus.

I want to see "Space Pirate Captain Herlock: The Endless Voyage *I think that's the title*). I don't know if it's good or not.

Well well well!
Today I saw two episodes of an early Captain Harlock. The dub was poor, like it cost $1.59, but the episodes were kinda fun for what they were. I'm not sure if the plot was the best in the world, but it was enjoyable.
Anyway. I mentioned wanting to soon get the other thing about Captain Herlock from the video store, and he said, "I think I actually have an episode of that." It turned out he did! It was part of a sample DVD with a few different episodes on it.
I watched it, liked it a lot, and can't wait for more!
(He recalled it as being boring, but I love that kind of space and thinking stuff.)
It was about a captain Zero who was supposed to hunt down captain Harlock, but he thought captain Harlock was actually a good guy, until something that happened in the episode.

Cosmo Warrior Zero. I got the chance to watch the first four episodes.
The plot is: sad past, there was a war, and Zero is supposed to hunt down Harlock. Also Machine Men (something else in Japanese -- I forget, something like Mechanized Men?).
There is some fanservice. (Two shower scenes in four episodes? And since when do elevators open into people's showers??)
Anyway, you can find out more about it by reading reviews online. I just wanted to mention that I saw it, and thought it was interesting.
Some things I noticed:
Harlock did not seem to have an eyepatch. (He also wasn't in the first four episodes enough.)
I like captain Zero, he's an interesting guy. But he seems like he needs other people to make decisions for him (or tell him what decisions to make). Maybe it's part of the whole troubled hero thing and he'll do better later.
Also the thing with the little kids in the fourth episode was sorta stupid.
(They're grown up now so leave them there???)
