A few of you may have heard of this, but it's a great anime. It snagged my interest so much...I mean, the title is so cheezy, but I love it so much!!

It's about a girl named Ahiru who is actually a duck, and with the help of her pendant (It actually very simple, unlike complicated SM compact) she becomes Princess Tutu and gathers heart shards for the Prince Mytho/Mute, who has shattered his heart to seal the evil Raven in a fairy tale written by the storyteller Drosselmyer. It might sound weird, but it's so much more than that. I think ADV liscensed it, so it's on DVD.

Anyone else like it?

I've only seen the first volume (because the waiting list on Blockbuster for the second volume is about as long as a story arc in DBZ), but I've really loved what I've seen.

I can't wait to find out more about Rue-chan. She's so mysterious, and her emotions towards Mytho seem to completely conflict.

But I must admit-- Mytho, in his night shirt=very disturbing.

It's definately a different type of magical girl title. I have the first volume and it appears that the series could take a dark turn somewhere along the way. Sadly, volume two has been delayed from it's March 22nd release date indefinately. Hopefully it won't be too long in coming out.

Well the premise is that the demon crow and the Prince came out of the book The seal it away the Prince sacrificed his heart. This comes back into the story as time goes on. =) I don't want to spoil it for anyone so i really don' want to go into detail. The whole series is really really really good.

The anime is better than the manga, XD! So...it's better if you watch than read?

Yeah, it does turn dark, but that kind of adds to it.

Also, some bits of PT was written by the same guy who did some for Hellsing. :| Not that there is any real violence of anything.

Princess Tutu is a great series. As a former en pointe ballerina who performed the Nutcracker annually, the series hit close to home. Add to the mix the fairy tale allusions, (which let's just say I have a Grimm's Fairy Tale anthology in addition to a collection of folktales), fairy tales are very important to me still (I watched my first anime at the age of two. It was Grimm's Fairy Tale classics.) The art is crisp, and surprisingly, I thought it was well-dubbed. (I usually hate dubs.) I can't wait to see more of it.
