Postby Ichigo_89 » Fri Mar 25, 2005 6:51 am

is there any difference between the original Trigun DVDs and the Trigun Geneon Signature DVDs? if they're exactly the same in pic quality, then I'm going with the original. Somebody help?

Exactly the same in the quality, sound, options, ect. However, the Signature version is ten bucks cheaper. Also, the menu on the first DVD can only be reached by skipping through all four episodes, and the chapters are all screwed up on the fourth DVD if you have it on Japanese~
Think happy thoughts.

Yeah, basically, they're repackaging "dead fish" (old series) to get some more money out of them. The DVDs are the same, though they may not have the inserts the original did (which never bothered me).

Wish I waited for the Signature Series. I had 1-4 subbed VHS and then reacquired them on DVD...

So the signature editions don't come with inserts? That's fine with me. ^_^ Gotta save every buck I can. :thumb:

So if you watch it in Japanese, it doesn't play things right?
Does this have a boxset yet?

<<So if you watch it in Japanese, it doesn't play things right?>>
I haven't watched the fourth DVD lately, but I remember, the first time I watched it in Japanese, the chapters restarted when they got to the end. I had to hit the "chapter skip" button. This didn't happen on any of the other DVDs (I have the entire series), and it didn't happen on English mode. It may have just been that once.

Don't recall that (I had the pre-Criterion version and only watch the subbed). It is possible that they're just shipping out the leftover discs which might have problems, or a problem with a certain batch of discs. At any rate, AoDVD didn't have any quality issues with this disc.
