PS I have already thought of GTO.

What he said. Also, Trigun is a fairly awsome action anime.

I should have said this before. But he is visually impaired so he has a hard time seeing what is going on if the show jumps from seen to seen a lot.

samurai X: trust and betrayal!! oh man, thats a tear jerker. ok, im gonna assume thats probally a bit too much carnage on somebody who's never seen a 'real' anime .. soooo .. maybe gundam wing (might be a little too long for a beginner), love hina or maybe even blue seed?

Hmm....

So something more slow-paced? Sorry, I'm totally drawing a blank here. I'm so sorry. ^_^'

There's also Noir. Lots of good action, deep emtional involving plot, and surprisingly little blood/gore! Give that a try. I also agree with alot of the previously mentioned titles as well! :-)

Wow. That's a tough one. I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around that. Do you have some examples for us? What action movies does he like? I'm drawing a blank on that one...

All those prev titles are GREAT! (exspecially Samurai X Trust and Betrayal, if your fiance likes action.. that has PLENTY of it!!)

Full metal Alchemist is an awesome series! with PLENTY of action as well.. The first dvd is out right now and possibly the 2nd... i am not reallysure...)

Rurouni kenshin has some action in it too.. (Samurai X is based off of it..)
only, its alot milder than Samurai X.

He liked The Cellular but all the flip flopping with the characters got a bit confusing for him.
With the last samurai he was totally lost.
His most favorite movie of all time is The Negociatetor.
He liked I Robot a lot because all of characters looked and sounded deferent .
I think he needs a anime with 4 mane characters tops.
Gundam Wing would not work because a lot of the boys look somewhat alike.
PS I am thinking Samurai X would be a good start. and by the way I love your sig.

trigun's good if he likes any kind of western, that plus the character do look very different, kenshin's always good, i also recommend samurai x: reflection, there's a fair share of action in it, but i warn you that the action is not the focus of the story
the main focus of the plot is the relationship between kaoru, the heroine of the story, and kenshin the hero
also there's ronin warriors, the main characters in it you can easily tell apart 'cus most of the time they wear the colors of the armor that they wear

inuyasha's pretty good, it can get a lil' risque' every once in a while (usually with that stupid "monk")

case closed is good, and pretty clean to, more of a detective series though

i'd recommend ghost in the shell, but half the time the main female character needs more clothes on (at least in my opinion)

i remember one of the first anime that i watched that got me into it was dragonball z, i know the dvds are available at various stores, but they are large in number, that series is the one that really got me into anime, so you might also investigate that one as well

hope this helps some

Witch Hunter robin is good, but there might not be enough action in it for him...

Cowboy Bebop, there's a plot, plus there are major character differences! Not to mention, Ghost In A Shell, the Major's clothes are almost as terrible as Faye's.

I second that. There is some flashing around, but there not as much as there are in most other action shows.

Rather than slaughter the plot, allow me to quote Chloe in her review:
Two women bound by a promise, their destinies intertwined by a melodic time piece with a music box melody. This music is where we begin. Kirika Yumura finds Mireille Bouquet, a young killer for hire, who has been wandering with a broken past and an uncertain future. She is the cool, confident, loner, who is very good at what she does - killing. Fate brings Kirika and Mireille together as Kirika is running from the Soldats, who seem to want her dead. She has no idea where she came from or who she is. All she has is the locket with the lulling melody and Mireille’s phone number. They meet and their lives are forever changed.

A journey ensues and a puzzle, one piece at a time, is put together, as Mireille and Kirika join together as a killer for hire duo called, Noir – a name Mireille remembers from her past which represent "two women with hands as black as sin."

At first, it is a partnership of convenience]

I've only had the pleasure of seeing three volumes, but I thoroughly enjoyed them.
