berserk is one of my favorite animes. not cause of the action and art so much, but because the hidden (for lack of better words) villian. they do such a great job of making you hate the guy, to the point of clenching your fists and wanna kill the guy, until you realize its not real and hes a freaking anime character.

YES, ive seen berserk. and YES, its freakin sweet. my friend's sarah's boyfriend has the a tatoo that Gutts has on his neck. thats also pretty freakin sweet.

I said this once ill say it a hundred times theres a reason my email starts with guts. It is an action backed deep and dark story yet its still cool as heck. The endings all right but it makes you need to read the books because of the way it ends.

I enjoyed the anime.. the last episode was extremely disturbign... i watched it with like.. 7 friends... and then since it was the last episode.. (and pertty much the start of a new story arc in the manga) I got so angry i "play-beat up" my friend lol we were all screaming that they ended the series on that note...

I know. Thats why whenever I think of it I start playing sword of berserk and beat the heck out of every thing with the dragon slayer.

The manga is twice as disturbing as the show (like when you learn why He was always yelling "don't touch me don't you ever touch me" )

not recomended for young readers.

Yeah i know the manga might be more disturbing but at least the story will continue. The way it felt to me is that hte last couple of anime episodes the anime took a dramatic turn into something different. I do want to read the manga and yeah this is definately rated R series

One of my favorites :)

I have the first 22 volumes of the manga (the ONLY manga I have ever read continously), and that's not too far after where the anime left off. The manga is still in production from last I heard, which is why there was no ending in the anime.

I haven't heard any official announcement about a second season for the show. The first season was way low budgeted, so a second season would take some time to finance.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyone here follow the manga? The manga is very dark. I haven't seen the anime, but by your description, I would presume that the anime is pretty tame in comparison. Personally, I would like to discuss it in-depth with another person with Christian beliefs, as even though the manga is very pagan, blasphemous, ridden with sex and debauchery, it is a reflection on how people, paritcularly a single Japanese person's view of Christianity and the world. It contains some truths that are so real, and so profound, and yet the fact is, he is still blinded by his view of religion and the by the past sins and the power-hungry tendencies of the Catholic church and the Vatican.

His description of people's loss of paganistic spirituality and superstition due to the rise of the church is a good description of how Satan's tactics change over time in order to match humanity. In the past Satan would have no doubt used possession and manifestations more often as the separation between people and cultures made them easy prey. As the world grew smaller due to technology and with the advent of Rationalism, such tactics are no longer as effective, with such events happening to people who are more open to 'spiritual events.' The fact that this person, a non-Christian, probably pagan manga writer, has written about this phenomenon in a twisted, falsified way shows how much contact there truly is between our world and the spiritual. If you have any doubt on wether this manga's true inspiration is demonic, understand that the concept of god in the manga is a being that is made by the culmination of evil in all of humanities hearts. Thus in the manga, it depicts humans as inherently evil and that gos is therefore made by humans to control humanity's fates and destiny. That and the orgies and rape, etc., etc.

berserk is a very good series full of action yet some parts are a bit disturbing and may require to be skipped if that sort of stuff bothers you..some of it bothers me and its not that easy to bother me
