Has anyone here had watched at least an episode(either the original Japanese or the North American one)? I could use a Christian perspective on the show.

It's goofy kids playing with tops. I really doubt there's anything bad in it.

The North American version is HEAVILY altered, full of cuts and script changes here and there; some are understandable(like inappropriate behavior and visuals too intense for little kids, at least by N.Am. standards), but others are better off not cut and/or altered because they rendered a number of parts of the overall script senseless. What I hated the most is how they changed the first season's lovely orchestral music for crappy techno ditties and awkward rock songs(I have the CD of the said orchestral OST). Lucky our country's(the Philippines) local network got the original Japanese and I was able to catch a lot of the said alterations, but I'll leave that for another post.

But that's not my only rant. Its fandom is now mostly of yes, yaoi lovers who only want them doing lots of degrading stuff with each other. There's only ONE BB fan I know that isn't into yaoi, but she's gone :waah!: . Now I'm stuck with BB haters who say the show and its fans are stupid and free-for-all-slash fans.

Sorry if I have to rant. I'm really very stressed out with those things that I said.

It is very sad when people do that with shows, teigeki_calesa. I think they will do it with any show, if they think the characters are cute. You have to really avoid reading anything they write about it, because it can really mess with your mind.

And the fanfics or whatever these people do usually don't have anything to do with what the characters are really like, or the shows. Take my advice and don't let it mess with you -- just stay away from it!

Yeah, the characters are kind of cute. That doesn't mean they're perverts. I like Beyblade because the characters are neat, and the show is fun and not-filthy. Some people pervert anything they can.

It's a mind set. It doesn't mean the show is like that. You would be able to tell by now if it was focused on filth! It wouldn't be hidden.

I am aware that those stuff are made more or less by awfully delusional people who can't tell (or refuse to see) what's in or out of character, but like I said, there is no one I can really talk about the show with at this rate. So I am stuck with those kind of watering holes that, horror of horrors, is based in my own country.

But I'm not much of a firebrand at these things unlike a year ago. I just well, live and let live. But no, I will NEVER be brainwashed by all their OOC yaoiness, that's what's certain.

Yeah, it totally ruined a show I used to watch. I thought it was true and it really messed me up... in some ways I still haven't recovered. Now I try to watch shows that are for young people, so they won't be filthy, and I also completely avoid reading fan-fiction.

How about trying my fic then?

It's a Sakura Wars/Beyblade crossover. Guaranteed free of nasty stuff....I think.
