That is the part that I'm not sure of. I have been waiting to see if they release it on dvd uncut. Since Fox box likes to edit anything.

So, I don't know. I haven't watch the fox box one.

I tried to watch it today but the dub was so atrocious I turned it off after only about a minute or two.I mean the voices were so Uber-Valley Girl
that they would make the girls from Totally Spies sound like they were from Iowa by comparison. :thumbsdow

I saw the first ep of Tokyo Mew Mew fansubbed and really liked it. I want to see more but I'm having a very hard time finding it fansubbed. And there is no way I will even consider watching the horrible dub. How do I know it's horrible? Because 4Kids Entertainment, the greatest evil associated with anime, has the rights to it here, so of course it'll be horribley butchered and destroyed. Look what they did to Pokemon. They are notorious for taking great shows and ruining them. Besides, I highly prefer anime subbed, not dubbed. So I pray to God that uncut, untampered with DVDs will be released, and with a sub track I might add.

ya you siad it. It was good but I like the original anime better. ya know the ones with the original characters and the subtitle on the bottom. I hope that the DVDs will not have cut scenes like thay do on Fox box(AKA 4Kids entertainment) and YTV.

I have become increasingly interested in this show from what I've been hearing about it. I've yet to see any of it, though.

My friend, who owns the whole series of Tokyo Mew Mew, got me started on the series and I have finished reading all of them. There was only one thing in the series that stands out to me that wasn't good, but it's not enough to make a Christian not read the series.
Concerning the tv series, however, I have not yet been able to see it.

Why does 4Kids have to change the names of the characters yet again? Why not leave them alone!
Zoey=Ichigo in original
Corrina=Mint in original
Bridget=Lettuce in original
Let's hope that FUNimation gets the uncut version so we can clear up this mess!

And the worst thing? Their speech:
"Mew Mew Style/Mew Mew Grace/Mew Mew Power/In your face" Ugh. I'll take one of Sailor Moon's any day.

I meant to say one of my FRIENDS at the Cafe Forum is a big Tokyo Mew
Mews fan.
Now we know 4kids is an Evil orgnization! :lol:
I bet Jar Jar Binks and Barney were in on the Conspiracy to make Mew Mew
Power bad! :lol:
Rather watch SD Gundam than Mew Mew Power any day! :bang:

I've read the manga and WAS excited about the show until I found out how horribly the edited it. I mean they destroyed it! Read the manga and catch it on uncut and unedited if they ever release that ^^
The story is about a group of girls who are fused with endangered animal genes to help them fight these aliens who are trying to reclaim earth. Very cute and fun story. Will appeal to fans of Cardcaptor Sakura type shows. ^^

Who and why would you name two characters Mint and Lettuce. Did they go into Pre-Production at a salad bar or something?

Well Lettucs has green hair and mint hsa bluish hair. So it fits them, theres also Pudding who's name has been changed into Kiki, and Zakuro who's name has been changed into Renay*sp?*

Any who, i like the manga books, it's not my favrite manga, but it isn't that bad. But what 4kids did to it...*shudders* They "Americanised" there names. And all the girls sound like they have all been sucking helium out of baloons. I hope the 4kids company goes back to the dark land to which it belongs! lol. I deffently like the manga over the anime.

Actually all of their names have to do with food:
Ichigo-Strawberry
Zakuro-Pomegrante
Mint
Lettuce
Pudding
I don't know why, but its kinda cute ^^

Somehow I doubt that a magical girl show with characters named after different foods had impeccable voice acting and rapier wit to begin with. Remember: things can be dumb in Japanese, too!

I don't approve of the changes, though. If the original was going for silly or fluffy they need to do it all the way. Taking it halfway to Barbie territory won't please anybody.

I've read some volumes of the manga and enjoyed them, but I'm almost afraid to watch the anime. I think their names are cute, as is the artwork in the manga. lol I never knew Zakuro meant pomeganate (sp?). Learn something new every day... ^___^

Hehe, glad to help your education along there spiritsword ^^

Yea, I am afraid of the dubbed anime..... this makes Sailor Moon's dubbing look like a piece of art....

Being I don't have cable or money for DVDs, I'm stuck with whatever anime I can get my hands on. Of course, this would mean those on FoxBox. I didn't think it was that bad, though I see this kind all the time so I'm kinda use to it. From the way it sounds, the Japanese version would be better.

It's not the best show, but for me, it's alot better than some of the other shows on FoxBox (i.e. that pitiful Winx Club crap XP)

BTW, 4Kids must die. Slowly and painfully.

Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! IMHO are the only anime that 4Kids seem to have done
almost decently.Of course it may have helped that they probably had Pikachu
ready to give 'em a thunder shock and Yugi ready with Dark Magician Girl/Dark
Magician combo if they loused up!
Just kidding.
Die 4Kids!
