For the record, I have seen very few Clamp stuff, except for maybe a few episodes CCS. Though I recently have taken an interest in Magic Knight Rayearth, a series that (from what I've heard) seems to connect school girls with magic, mecha, and RPG elements.

Is this a show that is going to be worth my time and money collecting? I want to say yes, but I need, shall we say, "confirmation" before I make a decision. :)

I haven't seen the anime, but I did read most of the manga (hung on Rayearth II volume 2). I think it depends on personal convictions. If you are not bothered by fantasy magic and a "sorceror" I think it's definately worth a read. But if you can't, stay away.

I've seen the first season of Rayearth. I had some mixed feelings when all was said and done, but all in all, it was worth the ride. The characters are well developed and likeable and the story is engaging, so that's enough for me.

The story is a classic fantasy tale. The heroes are gathered from Earth and taken to another world. There, they go on a quest to gather the items needed to defeat an evil that is threatening the land. The story is really well laid out and the characters are fun to watch and root for.

The ending was a little unexpected, but I won't do anything that will spoil it for you.

Except for the fantasy elements involving magic and "gods," which you will run into in just about every fantasy story, I can't think of anything objectionable in the show. Since you are already inclined to purchase it, I have no problem recommending it to you.

Cheaper region 1 memorial box sets of Magic Knight Rayearth will be released beginning June 14th for $40.00 a set. I've decided to start picking this one up then.

I've only seen the OVA's so i havent actually seen the tv series, but i like the characters. The setting for the OVA's is earth so you dont get to see the other world so i cant really comment on that, but the characters and storyline is good in the OVA's and ive heard they're also good in the tv series. Watch it if you can. I sure want to. :)

Magic Knight Rayearth ROCKS!!! It's in my top 10 anime of all time. the dub is the best anime dub EVER!! (TV show only. the OVA dub is evil!)

Wasn't the "Rune God" thing a mistranslation. In japanese the giant robot/beast things are called "Mashin" and I'm not sure what, if anytbing, it really translates to but I'm pretty sure it's not "Rune God".

MKR is a great series. I recommend picking up the TV series. Others have pretty much covered the details, so I'll just add my recommendation! ^__^

Mashin sounds like "machine". I loved MKR. I've read all the manga and own one of the DVDs. The dub's okay, but I loved the original Japanese version. The song "Unyielding Wish" is one of anime's finest.

My favorite characters are Fuu and Ferio; they make a great couple.

MKR is an awesome series! I loved the story and the characters and it was so good at drawing you into the story! The manga and animes are different so it would be good to get all if you like. I have the manga but not the anime yet ><
Thumbs up in my opinion tho ^^

Unless the anime and manga is different, I see nothing wrong with the series. I've read the manga.

I've read 1-3 of the manga and saw volume 1 of the anime. I guess it was OK, though I was basically MSTing the series by the time I got to episode 2.

It seems to be based on the computer RPG style and seemed to lack the darker elements that some fantasy anime have. I'd call it mediocre, but don't recall anything that stood out offensive.

Oh-- this is the TV series BTW, not the OVA "Rayearth" from Mangle-- er Manga Entertainment...
BTW, I believe the mecha were called "machines", but each of the gods controlled access to one.
