What's extended in the Samurai X director's Cut DVDs? Is it worth the money for those? is it anything major, or just a bunch of extra time-wasting scenes? Thanks. ;)

The Trust and Betrayl director's cut it a waste of money. All it is is the two movies with a little extra footage in them here and there, barely noticeable and not worth it; most of this is used in order to "splice" the two films together into one 2 hour movie. Also, they morphed them into widescreen format. Normally widescreen means that you see stuff you were missing; not really the case here. I think there have basically been some extra background art added in obviously, but it actually disfavors the films in my opinion. Sometimes things give off a slightly smashed panoramic look too. Just stick with the originals. These director's cuts are really just a money-making attempt with the franchise in my opinion. I'm not so sure about the Reflection director's cut, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was technically the same kind of situation.

I got the directors cut of Trust and Betrayal only so for me it wasn't a waste. I am not sure as I have never seen the original whether it is worth the extra money if you have the originals.

As for Reflection yes. For me (I had the original) it was total worth it. There are several scense added that for me as a Kenshin fan where absolutly great. I would recomend getting the Reflection Directors cut.

You guys were extremely helpful. I'm just going to buy the boxset now and Reflections extended sometime in the future. (that way I can appreciate all the new scenes in Reflections!) Much thanks! :thumb:
