March FIRST!? Are you serious!? I've been wanting to see this for a long time. *runs off to add the movie to her Blockbuster Q*

Yes! I am really looking forward to this! Though I thought March 18 was going to be its theatrical release... Is it going right to DVD? I hoped to see it in theatres. Oh well, I'm happy with DVD too.

If I'm not mistaken it is a theatrical release. But I'm worried about the movie because its directed by Otomo. He may be a genius but that doesn't mean I should like his movies.

You might have a little trouble with that. It's not released on DVD until the 18th.
Yes, weep openly if you feel the need.

So far,
Akira is the only movie he's done I have "issues" with. (I have yet to see
Rojin Z.) But
Memories and
Metropolis both are great ones to check out, if you haven't.
Memories is an excellent trilogy, even though the "Stink Bomb" episode does seem to try to hard. As for
Metropolis, I love it! This is so pretty it made me rethink my views on
Akira, and I'm now willing to try it again after I read the manga.

Is Memories available in the States? I thought it was only in a Region 2 DVD, at least according to the Anime Encyclopedia.

Nope, it's available as a region one release. I'm not sure who produces it, but I know I've seen it in my local Blockbuster.

Cool. I'll have to go burn my Amazon gift certificate on that, assuming they have it in stock.

Try a google search. A specific site doesn't come to mind right now.
I found out that it won't be playing at any theater near me. WHAAAAAH!

I think this definitely looks like one to see. It looks good, I look forward to seeing it whenever Netflix decides to get it in. :S Interesting that the maker took like 10 years or something to do it.
