What Anime Songs/BGMs Make You Cry?

Postby Debitt » Sun Feb 27, 2005 4:36 pm

^.^; Sorry if this belongs in the music forum. Move it if needed.

Decided to start this topic since my brother was laughing at me because I teared up when Gravity from Wolf's Rain started playing. So what songs or BGMs from anime make you a little misty eyed?

For me:
Gravity from Wolf's Rain (T___T SO SAD!)
Michishirube from DNAngel
Setsunasa from Tactics (BGM from the end of episode 13. T__T)
Hikari from Matantei Loki Ragnarok (>_> Not sad, just really really pretty)
Anti-Nostalgic from *insert no discuss title here* (Buh...T.T It's MY pretty song! <3)

I don't cry much, but these are rather moving for me.

Blue from Cowboy Bebop.
Over the Sky [Angel Feather Version] Final Theme of Last Exile
Gravity from Wolf's Rain was cool too.

Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls
once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make
every new day seem so new.

A splitting brow forced by the thorns
His face is writhing with the pain yet it's comforting to me

The opening song for Ayashi no Ceres makes me cry. It's sad. Well...the whole series is sad.

Ballad of Ranma and Akane (the OAV version, not the one from Fighting Cards Karuta). Every time.
"you're a doctor.... and 27 years.... so...doctor + 27 years = HATORI SOHMA" - RoyalWing, when I was 27

Title: Kyosuke # 1
It's a piano song that is played in Kimagure Orange Road Movie: Summer's Beginning.
It's a very nice melody that really touches me. One of my all time favorites.

I don't cry, but I do get move by music in anime.

Most instrumental pieces do move me.

But here are some songs that move me.

The song that Melfina sang in Outlaw Star.

Last Impression- Endless Waltz Special Ending

Tsuki no Ie- 2nd End Theme for Outlaw Star

Mina Soko ni Nemure- Blue Sub Six ending song

Yubiwa- Escaflowne the movie ending song

Half-Pain- Ending song to WHR

Kiseki no Umi- Record of Lodoss War

Forevermore- Tenchi Universe

Hitomi Theme- Escaflowne

Autumn of life- Tenchi Universe

Add gravity to that list too.

Oh, I cry when I hear the song If you. Because how a pretty song like that could be left out of Escaflowne is just sad. :sniffle:

hm...I guess the only BGM that made me almost burst into tears was...

the Teen Titans episode How Long Is Forever? when the grown up titans come back together. The music there was so touching, it almost made me cry.

We have been here long enough to know
That we are all brothers and sisters in Christ,
So if you are in need of help,
We shall give you His advice.

May God add his blessings upon you,
That you will live this day and forever,
And when He comes to the earth again,
We will all go together...

Into Heaven for Eternity...

I don't cry, but some moving songs for me were...

"Sora" from Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaia
"Call Me Call Me" from Cowboy Bebop
Cheza's song in Wolf's Rain (the one she sings to the wolves)
"Gravity" from Wolf's Rain
"Radical Dreamers" from Chrono Cross (I've never played the game, but the song is really pretty)
"Some Other Time" from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Think happy thoughts.

Track 38 (I think it's translated something like "Tears After the Clear Weather" or something) from Pocket Monsters Sound Anime Collection always gets me. It's the music from the first ep ever when Satoshi stands up to the Onisuzume to protect his badly wounded Pikachu, and Pikachu summons its little remaining strength and saves Satoshi. It's also used in the "Bye Bye Butterfree" ep when Satoshi bids farewell to Butterfree and recalls their time together.
"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6
