I recall being depressed over the ending to the Cowboy Bebop series. AFter that, the movie felt like a false Bebop.

Well, I've never seen a whole anime series before, but I know how that is with other good shows. Or, when you beat a game you've been playing for a long time... It's like really cool that you beat it, but you can't believe it's over!

well, series end. that's how it goes. you find a new series and the process starts over. I'm used to it I guess.

What I hate is when you find a series that seems to do well, telling a good story and suddenly they change to a new story arc that just seems stupid. I had that problem with Trigun (though it did get good again in the final volume), Gokudo, GTO (the stolen money), Nadia (the Island), Ceres, Gundam Seed

Oh, you poor dear. I honestly was a little sad that Full Moon was over, but I was so pleased with the outcome that I felt more inspired than depressed.
Plus, you can always just watch it again!

I felt that way about Azumanga Daioh - a little anyway. I loved the story so much, I didn't want it to end. But it ended well and I can always watch it again, so all is good.

Matantei Loki Ragnarok's ending made me sad...o.O because it was just a tad anti-climactic. T__T And I'm dreading the end of Tactics. I think I will cry when that one ends. Everything else...>.> I just tend to move on. *nods*

I'm like that, too, but I wouldn't say that it depresses me; it just makes me want more. And let's face it: when an anime (or anything entertaining, for that matter) leaves you wanting more of the entire package, then it's good. That's how you can generally tell the good anime apart from the bad or mediocre ones, wouldn't you say?
My most recent example would be Comic Party. More doujinshi conventions!

I'd rather an anime series end at a high note rather than degenerate into a piece of garbage after going on forever. Because let's face it any movie or show gets worse if it keeps going on past it's prime.

I was sad when Evangelion ended. Mainly because I watched ep 15 til the end all in a row and got attached to the characters.
I was angry when Berzerk ended because it did not have an ending. I'm not saying that ending was bad, I'm saying it literally did not have an ending. I had to check the dvd and online just to make sure that the last episode WAS in fact the last episode. I found out later that the reason is because the manga isn't done. So that gives me hope for a second season.

I do get sad when I finish a series. Such as Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, 08th MS Team, Gundam Wing, etc.

I finished FMA just recently and I do wish that there was more. At least we have the movie coming eventually. ^^ But you can always relive the series by rewatching it. Sure, you know what'll happen so it's not quite the same experience, but I just watched my FMA DVD (Vol 1) last night and loved it. It took me back to when I had first started the series, and it was great to see it again. *eagerly awaits vol. 2's release* And BTW, the OST rules and I've been listening to it alot lately. ^^

OST does rule. UNDO and Kesenai Tsumi are the best songs ever
