just finished watching cowboy beebop... what is it with anime and most of them having boggling (weird or needing about 3 more episodes ( trigun and such for needing the next 3 episodes to finish what the manga had)) or just plain sad (cowboy beebop, full metal alchemist, animes like that wich have sad endings) ive only seen three animes out of the tons i have seen that have happy endings to speak of, the two .//hacks and crest of the stars. so can you tell me some good animes without endings like that?

The Wolf's Rain ending was HORRIBLE.
Especially...
Hmm. . . Full Moon Wo Sagashite had a very satisfying ending, IMHO. If you can take a shoujo title that's very creative and heartfelt, give it a try!

Jubei-chan and The Irresponsible Captain Tylor both have relatively happy endings. Not completely free of loss, but with a general happy note.

Volt that is histarical. But that would be painful. Not to mention I don't know whether to be disterbed by the mental picture I get, or laugh uncontrolably at it.
I do like a tied up ending. Or at least one that doesn't make you depresed for days. Samurai X's ending tied things up but I was left depresed for a day and a half. Fruits Basket ended without resolving things but you felt and knew things would be getting better if they already where not. Noir I also felt like ended well. It was optomistic. Nither one died and they defeated the enemy so...
Yes the ending to Cowboy Bebop totally and compleatly Sucked!!!!

yeah it seems to be a common occurence in anime. but im looking into full moon something something said earlier (cant remeber the second part offhand) and ill also look into irresponsible captain tylor (been wanting to see it but never been sure of it) and have seen jubei chan 2 and plan on seeing the first series.
but back to the main point i wonder what it is with the japanese and cutting of there endings (like trigun. the manga filled so many holes that the ending left open) or just plain sad endings (bebop). my western mind doesnt understand or like this, though it is good to have a good sad story once in a while...

I, for one, like French movies. Cyrano De Bergerac is one of my favorites. Many of them have questionable content though, and I try to avoid those ones. It's too bad though because some of them would be just awesome movies if they had left little parts out.
By the way, is Jubei-chan out in America yet, or did you see it someplace else?

Yeah, Jubei-Chan is out in America. just go to
http://www.amazon.com and search for it. I'll probably be ordering the boxed set in the next few days.

Volt wrote:The japanese like quessing, they like playing mind games and keeping you guessing at the many possibilities of what is going to happen, that's why they rarely FINISH their series. They never really tie anything up. (example: FFX, DinoCrisis, Resident Evil, Japanese Movies, Cowbow Bebop, Noir, and yes Pokemon, if it ever does end, or attempt to end  )
Oh. I thought it was just because they usually ended a series by trying to cram in the rest of the manga plot before the end of a 13-episode season or before the studio ran out of money.
