I really want to see it so bad. It looks really good. Also, the story premise seems interesting. I'll eventually rent it when I get the time

looks like there's a lot of fan service/sexual type content...is there?

Chrno Crusade is cool. there is a bit of fanservice here & there, and in some cases they've really warped scripture to say something different, though it is by all accounts fiction, so thats not as bad on that front, it gets really dark in its later stages, its prob the darkest anime i've seen

I just picked up the series and so far I'm really enjoying it. Some of the story-irrelevent filler has fanservice, but hey, I can skip those parts, so it's all good. ^_^ I love Joshua...

I've only seen the first DVD of Chrno (is it Chrno or Chrono?) Crusade, but I enjoyed it and definitely plan to keep watching. I like the animation and the characters, as well as the setting in the Roaring 20's. It's an interesting premise, too, and I found it very interesting that it gets darker near the end--I can't wait to see what happens! ^_^

the japanese version is Chrno the american version is Chrono (the name and the chars name differ between the versions, slightly). They had trouble getting it licensed in Japan as 'Chrono Crusade', i think it was something to do with Chrono trigger etc. maybe, i could be wrong

=O; Ah, it all makes sense now. x_X; I usually like to use the original names, but I'm always compelled to type Chrono. Ugh, I have to train myself to do otherwise now. xD;

How good is this for Christians though? I heard a demon was a protagonist. :-/

yes, but it's a fantasy demon and a fantasy series - so none of it is to be taken seriously in any way shape or form. personally I have no problem with it, but if you do then don't watch it.

More accurately, it's based on the concept of oni. The Japanese don't really have a religious tradition of evil supernatural beings. The Oni is usually bad, but some can be good. To someone not familiar with the Christian beliefs (as the author admitted he wasn't), the concepts used here might not seem so bad.
I think the unorthodox ideas portrayed about the order of nuns (I'm a Catholic myself) and the relation with demons are based on lack of knowledge and not ill-will, so I don't take offense.

^ I was rather amused that all the nuns seemed rather "interested" in Chrono.
I really enjoy this series. Great action, great plot, and you don't have to watch half the series before you get into the meat of the story. (Trigun)
I really don't have any problem with Chrono being a demon. The demons of Chrono Crusade, as previously stated, are not the fallen angels of the Bible. They are simply a different race of beings, just like the demons of Yu Yu Hakusho.

That's the problem when dealing with a different culture. The values they have may not be compatible with yours. I've read #1 of the manga and the story didn't seem compelling enough to continue.

I've enjoyed this series so far. I should be getting the 3rd disc via Netflix soon. ^__^ I haven't really read the manga, except for Vol. 1. I've heard its better than the anime. However, after reading Vol. 1 I haven't been as compelled to read another one; as, I have with other series like Immortal Rain.
