Remember those cartoons you used to watch way back then? Ever wonder if any of them were really anime?

A few that stick out in my mind are The Bionic Six, Galaxy Rangers, and Mysterious Cities of Gold. (I useto love the Bionic Six)

All of which I’m now pretty sure were really anime. I never even knew! ^_^

Can you think of any more?

Well, I don't know if anyone of you ever watched Heidi. but it was anime, and i watched it when i was like 2 or something. It was about a little girl who's parents had died & she lived in Switzerland with her grandpa. the person who did the art, i think, is the same person who did Spirited Away.

we rented it from Blockbuster a while back and watched it. um, I think it's about this genius little 10 year old kid who somehow was able to teleport to Bucky O'Hare's ship and they were always fighting these toad guys. that's all I remember.

I used to watch 'Superbook' and 'Flying House' when I was 7 or 8. I didn't even know what anime was, so I always thought it was wierd how the characters' mouths got so large and they were prone to fainting on a regular basis.

Maple Town, Belle and Sebastian, The Little Prince

And one with two koalas and a girl and how she had to nuzzle 'em to make them come alive or something. The koalas were from some magic place and whenever they visited it and had the girl with them, she had to wear a fake koala nose. And ears, iirc. I think the show was called Nuzzles, not sure.

Nick needs to bring those back! Good times good times...Though I wonder if kids would even watch them? They weren't exactly flash and noise like Spongebob...

Noozles was the name of the anime that was giving over here in the US.

In Japan it was called Blinky the Wonderful Koala.

The koalas were really alive and they came from Koalawalla land. From what I remember of the last ep, that the Koalas and Koalawalla Land was another planet or something. All I remember is them going back home and they had to take a space ship that was some were in the outback.

Don't even ask how I remember all this, when the last time it was on the air, I was six years at the time.

Anime that I didn't know was anime at the time was Little Nemo - Adventures in Slumberland. I just thought it was a cool cartoon movie.

Me too! That show cracked me up. I think my older brother liked it too, but he wouldn't admit it then, won't admit it now. LOL.

In Korea, as a kid, I was subject to many anime around those times. Naturally, because Korea is closest country to Japan. In fact, take the language out and a little bit of tradition and you'll never tell the difference between me and a Japanese.

Anyway, the first anime I remember watching is Dragonball Z. Before that was something like He-man. Speed Racer came in during primary school. Then was Granzort...

Come to think about it, I didn't prefer anime at all. I think I liked those 'action' shows more, like Flashman. Imagine Powerangers except Asian. Classic.

Lil' Bits was an anime, and so was Grimm's Fairy Tales that used to be shown on Nickelodeon back in the day. And yes, sunet, I watched Heidi too. Unico was (um, is) an anime too.

Wow! I knew Cities of Gold was from Japan, but I didn't know about Maple Town or that thing with the koallas that I can't even remember but seems to be embedded in my consciousness somehow. It sounds kind of like that show with those monkey things and the "Happy Works." Criminey, what was that called?!

Incidentally, The Little Prince is from France. France-a-mation! Woohoo!

Yup, yup, I watched that, too. I never even realized it was anime until one day I was watching Pokemon and my Mom said "Ash really looks like Chris from Superbook, doesn't he?" XD I was like "Oh my gosh!! You're right!!!"

Sailor Moon (XD)
Samruai Pizza Cats (Great show really.)
Speed Racer (Video store right by by house had it. That video store is an art galler now. T.T)
Pokemon (That year I learned what anime really is.)

Yeah about The Little Prince. :) I've yet to read the book though. Keep meaning to do that... Another one I remember was Maya the Bee. Nick used to rock..

The monkey things and "Happy Works" doesn't ring any bells, though. :(
