Im not sure if I know exactly what you are looking for HofS, but I will give it a shot.
Event Synopsis of Princess Mononoke:
Ashitaka is in his village, and goes to check out the watch tower
Old man and Ashitataka see something in the woods
It’s the demon boar Nago
The Boar chases after Ashitaka and his Red Elk Ekul (I think that’s his name)
The Boar begins to chase Ashitaka’s sister, and he is forced to kill it
The Boar touches him, cursing him. But his body is pure and the evil can not completely posses him immediately.
The Curse will eventually take over his body and kill him so he sets out to find where the boar came from in the hopes of breaking the curse.
Ashitaka and Ekul come across a village being attacked by samurai mercenaries. He kills a few as he flees the area, but you get to see the beginning of the power of the evil curse, as it gives him an incredible strength and power but still fails to corrupt his heart.
Ashitaka continues on and meets Jago (something like that) a monk who helps him, but his motives are always for selfish reasons. Ashitaka leaves Jago and continues on.
Mean while, the people of Iron Town are brining a shipment of goods through the mountains when they are attacked by the wolf gods and San. Lady Hiboshi (the leader of Iron Town) manages to wound the wolf goddess _____.
Ashitaka comes through the woods to a river bed and finds some men who were knocked off the cliff in the pervious nights attack. He helps them and brings them home through the forest of the Spirit of the Forest. The little tree spirits leading them all the way.
He also meets San at the river bed, but she tells him to go away.
They reach a holy place where Ashitakas curse attacks his body again, but he perseveres.
Oh-yah, he sees the Spirit of the Forest from a distance here.
They finally make their way to Iron Town, where Ashitaka is met by a thankful crowd and a suspicious head of the guards (sorry I don’t remember his name). He also meets Lady Hiboshi here and basically sees their side of the story. Both the good and bad that the humans of Iron Town represent. Compassion (as Hiboshi has on the Lepers and Call Girls) and relentless progress (with a disregard for nature).
You now learn of Jagos real purpose of being in the land. He wants to kill the Spirit of the Forest for the Emperor (he thinks its head will make his immortal or something).
That night San and the wolves attack, but San is left alone to fight in the city. Ashitaka tries to get both sides to stop, but Lady Hiboshi and San end up fighting anyway. Ashitaka steps in and subdues both of them and attempts to leave with San. Once again he becomes angry and the curse surfaces with its power Ashitaka sustains a mortal bullet wound and lifts the Town gate (which takes 10 normal men to lift) and walks out of the Town with San.
San wakes moments later to find Ashitaka passed out and the Wolves return and try to kill him. San stops them and bring Ashitaka to the holy place (with Ekul following all the way) and basically has compassion on him and asks the Spirit of the Forest to heal Ashitaka, which he does. (by taking the life of a small sapling and giving it to Ashitaka, but the curse remains)
Enter the Boars and lord Okoto (the big gray boar). Ashitaka now learns the side of the forest spirits. Their determination to protect the forests they love, and the uncontrollable hate that exists in their hearts. See the contrast, one cares for man while the other cares for nature and both care little for the other.
Now Ashitaka has seen both sides of the conflict and now must find a way to bring balance to both the humans and the forest spirits.
Time for the big battle.
Jago and his men try to lure out Okoto and his army by burning trees and stuff. This of course enrages the forest spirits and they attack head on right into a trap. The people of Iron Town have left to help Jago fight the boar, but the Samurai mercenaries decide to take the opportunity to attack Iron Town. The woman and the Lepers defend the town while Ashitaka sets out to find Lady Hiboshi (who has agrees to hunt the Spirit of the Forest with Jego, hoping that it will end their trouble with the forest spirits) so she will return to defend her town.
Ashitaka also leans that the Okoto was wounded very bad in the battle and San is bringing him to the holy place to see the Spirit of the Forest. Jago’s men find San and Okoto on their way and enrage Okoto to the point that his heart is completely full of hatred and fear that he is possessed by the curse and becomes a demon, trapping San.
Okoto charges forward to the holy place with San caught in the curse. At the holy place he is confronted by the big wolf spirit (whats her name!?!?!?) and Ashitaka. They save San and the Spirit of the Forest appears and takes Okoto’s life.
All would be ok, accept that Jago and Hiboshi are hiding near by and after a short struggle, manage to sever the Spirit of the forests head from its body, unleashing a terrible monster thingy that is basically the opposite of the Spirit of the Forest in that is kills anything it touches.
To make the story shorter, they get the head back, and Ashitaka gives it back the Spirit of the Forest. The Spirit Dies, the forests begins to grow again, Hiboshi returns to rebuild Iron Town, San returns to protect the forest, Ashitaka is cured of the curse, but each party has begun to understand that they need to live WITH one another and not struggle against each other.
The End.
I hope that was kind of what you were looking for. Sorry I didnt have all the names right.
