Toboe dies! My favorite character...

It was bittersweet though, because...

[SPOILER]
Toboe died trying to help "Pops," because he promised Blue that he would protect her old "owner." Right before he died, he went back to his wolf form and fell into Pops's arms. Pops was stroking Toboe as the wolf died, then it showed Toboe as a wolf in heaven (Paradise?), being pet by an older woman, relaxing in peace.

Then, the wolves came and saw and started to howl...then it showed Toboe running and running in a field, looking joyful. While the wolves mourned there was this really sad-sounding song. And Pops died holding Toboe in his arms... waaah!

I had to go to church and was all sniffly...

Who saw that episode?

I did! :bawl: Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!! Wolf's Rain is sad! [spoiler]Everyone's dying! I felt so sorry for poor Hub when he had finally found Cher and she DIED! And then he died too! At least they're together.... *sob sob*[/spoiler]

It made me so sad!!! Poor Toboe, he was my favorite chara too!!!

He was my fav too..... poor little guy....

He was definetely my favorite character, he was a lot like me. I thought it was funny when he would rock in human form. (He'd put the bottoms of his feet together, hold his feet with his hands, and rock back and forth.) He was carefree and really sweet...waaaaaaah!

I thought it was really sad when his voice was coming from the wolf...it sounded so weak...poor wolf...

It sounds like a very sad episode. I didn't get to see that episode since my TV recorder started going nuts, but so far all of the Wolf's Rain episodes are getting so sad.

Yeah it was really sad I'll admit it *almost* made me tear up.

well..I have the very last episodes of Wolf's Rain on dvd from ebay...so....if you don't want anymore sadness...I suggest you stop waching...there's only 2-3 episodes left.... believe me...if you don't want to see any more sadness...stop now!

Oh I like the sadness...anyway I couldn't stand not knowing what happens!

Another wolf is going to die...or Chezza. I'm expecting Hige, though...or maybe Tsume. Probably Hige. But that's only because Blue adores him so much and said that all that matters to her is being with Hige.

They all died in a big, bloody massacre. All at least for Kiba, Chezza, and that black wolf. Chezza died later. I think Kiba's dead too but I'm not sure... [/SPOILER]

*sigh* I told you.....wait....they didn't show the part where...

[Spoiler] The rain falls...and the flowers bloom....and it shows the city....and you see Tsumae*on motorcycle*, Hige*eating*, Toboe*adopting a kitten*, and Kibe *walking through the city...then running and the song Stray comes on*? Cause that's how the full episode ends....If this was indeed the end end....where Kibe is lying in the snow....and Chezza dies....and the black wolf's eye contaminates the water....Sorry..now I'm rambling...[/Spoiler]

If it ended differently then tell me...I have the OVA ending episodes....so....If it didn't end that way....How did it end?

Yeah it was confusing at the end.But I think it was supposed to symbolize
the renewal of hope in Spring when it showed everyone alive again.
I think the message of the show is that we have to make our own Paradise.
Ok,not trying to turn into "Message Boy" here but if there was any message
to Wolf's Rain I would think that that would be it:We Each Make Our Own
Paradise.
Notice we don't really see Kiba's face in the end we just see his back as
he's walking down the alley.
As far as sadness goes:Remember WR was made from the same folk
who gave us Cowboy Bebop and Witch Hunter Robin two shows that
didn't exactly have overly happy endings.

I was confused too and I like tradic endings...but this one I couldent stand:waah!:!! I hopes there might be a lil' more

wow that was a sad anime took me by surprise and the ending what was that any way kinda weird. any body have a clue i kinda have one but i stil have questions i hate anime that leaves questions

I seriouisly cried when [spoiler]Toboe died[/spoiler] and I NEVER cry...pretty much. WR, WHR, and Kikaider are all animes with really sad endings. Why, then, are they my favorites? (Well, those 3 and InuYasha are at the top.)

There's a whole controversy over what Paridise is and wasn't and etc. on the Adult Swim boards.

What did you guys think of the last episode of the OVA where [spoiler]Darcia's wolf eye melts in the water and taints the lunar flower[/spoiler]?

[Spoiler]I couldn't make heads or tails of the symbolism in his eye...maybe....it was saying that even what you think is perfect paradise...it is still tainted by evil? Or maybe that real evil never really dies...? I dunno....I'd have to watch the last episodes again *since that's all I have anyway*[/Spoiler]

Saw the first half of Wolf's Rain. Couldn't get into it so I stopped watching. Then I just happened to see last night's episode. Depressing and very confusing. I'm kinda glad now I didn't really get into it. I hate ambigous endings like that.

It was very sad, I don't ususally like sad endings but it had a bit of hope at the end.
