Some questions on Noir. Contains spoilers.

Postby Kura Ookami » Thu Oct 07, 2004 3:20 pm

This thread contains spoilers on Noir so anyone who hasnt seen the series should stop reading now. These are just a few questions ive been thinking about lately.

Who, in the end, was Kirika Yumara anway?

Why did Mirielle lower her gun with Altena who she despised standing right in front of her?

What exactly did Altena truly desire?

Is Kirika's and Mirielle's pilgramage over now, or is it just beginning?

And what did the final gunshot mean?

Finally what is Noir to you?

I'm sure everyone will have their own answers to these questions and i can't wait to see what peoples thoughts and interpretations are. Noir is my favorate anime and i love to think about these sorts of questions.

Uh-oh, a Noir thread!

I wish we had more information! We know she was raised and trained (and brainwashed and manipulated) by various Soldats. Since she was chosen at birth, she was taken from (or given by) her parents, who must have been members. I think this is all we know for sure.

Why did Mirielle lower her gun with Altena who she despised standing right in front of her?

M said she was undeserving of death...because this is what A wanted.

What exactly did Altena truly desire?

To right a wrong, to eliminate and have her revenge on evil. An abused child of war all grown up, taking matters into her own twisted hands...

Is Kirika's and Mirielle's pilgramage over now, or is it just beginning?

Mireille said they were seeking light... I wonder what they did with their lives?

And what did the final gunshot mean?

I like to think those gunshots represented the end of their lives as assassins...

Finally what is Noir to you?

My favorite anime! I just love watching it and analyzing the characters!

Those questions sound very familiar... Like they were from the insert in the final volume. Lol! Still good questions though.

I had a question, but now I forgot what it was... -_-;;

Yeah they are from the insert in the final volume. Maybe I should have said that originally? Still i think ill answer the questions myself now.

We dont know that much about Kirika really. We dont even know what her real name is. I think she was given to the soldats by her parents unlike Mirielle who's parents refused to give their daughter to them. I wonder what happened to Kirika's parents? I remember kirika saying something about Chloe being a part of her. I think she said that Chloe was the hateful part of her and when Chloe died at Kirikas hands that part of her was lost.

I agree with you hikari here. Mirrielle chose not to kill Altena because Alrena was undeserving and because that is what Altena wanted. Altena had manipulated so many people.

Altena believed that "if love can kill people, then might not hatred save them as well." Maybe she wanted to save the world through hatred never realising that hatred can never save anyone. Unfotunutly she never realised that her belief was false and that she actually ruined so many peoples lives.

Their pilgrimage to the past has ended i think The past that involved Chloe, Altena, the secret society known as the soldats and Noir. I wonder what happens to them after they go back to paris. I love endings like this that are open ended.

What is Noir to me? Noir is definately my favorate anime. I always enjoy thinking about the characters and the events that occur.

It would be really good if everyone who has watched Noir adds their imput.

Yeah, what did happen to them? Even though they became Noir, do they know too much to be left alone by Soldats?

What is the moral thing to do in their situation..?

I dont know, but they are going to have some tea at mirielles place and talk about it. They can't hide from the soldats because they are spread throughout the world. Maybe they will continue to fight. But then maybe the person who was behind the soldats attacks was altena, who wished for the trials to be fought. Now altena is dead will the fighting continue or will it end?

it's hard to imagine, I'd like kirika to be able to go back to a normal life, but then again if it was always like that it just wouldn't be anime...it'd be Disney

A fan fiction I had found had Mirielle and Kirika open a bakery in Paris and have a young girl working for them who is about the same size has Kirika.
Then the bakery burns down, a body is found and Kirika is missing.
Mirielle later boards a plane to New York City after receiving a mysterious message.

Where did you find this fanfic? I'd like to read it.

Yeah, that's what i personally like about anime. It's far more real than disney. There are few happy endings. Just open endings where you can imagine what happens next. They are the best kind of endings i think.

I'll have to look for the print out I made of the story to see where I got it from. I looked on the net just after our club got finish watching the last episode
sometime ago about a year or two.
I have found some interesting fan fictions for anime series we had finished like Princess Mononoke where it tells where Lady Eboshi is the Princess real mother and gave her up to the wolf god to raise to save her life.

OK located the story in fanfiction.net, page 1 of Noir #113 Story: Remember Me by Incantrix 2 chapters.
The one thing is that so many others have written different stoies on how it all ended and other stories during the series.
