Angel Tales

Has anyone seen or heard of this? I saw an ad for it and it looks good. Its like an Ah my goddess type show where this kids dead animals are now like angels of whatever and come to earth to help him. Its really cute and good art. I was wondering if anyone else was interested in it. I think I might get the first DVD sometime.... ^^

I've heard of it and seen the DVD kicking around, but I've never checked into it. (I know, I'm slipping!) I'd be interested in finding out about the series, though. It sounds cute. ^^

Angel Tales is a cute little series. It's a harem anime to be sure. The focus is young Goro who is your typical down on his luck type who's life seems to be going nowhere. Catching the attention of a Goddess, angels are sent to help him out. Into the series the total number ends up being 12 angels (quite the harem indeed). Each of the angels is unique in the fact that in their earthly existence they were pets or animals whom Goro had cared for as a child. Each comes back with a phobia connected to who they were before. Ren the goldfish hates water, Tsubasa the parakeet is afraid of heights, Tamami the cat doesn't like to cross roads, etc. The short series is about their desire to care for Goro and to help his luck to turn around. Because the series cannot juggle so many characters at once, usually half are set aside as chibi dolls while the rest interact with Goro. Two warnings: there is occasional fanservice, but nothing too over the top. Plus in the area of religious beliefs, theologically one might have problems with a Goddess in control of everything, animals becoming angels, and related to this, some might interpret this as reincarnation.

It's rated 13 and up and I would say that's pretty accurate.

I give it about a 7 out of 10 overall.

I've only watched 2 of the 3 volumes so have not done a review on it.

Yeah, It's cute, but I don't like the whole Goddess thing. I have this DVD, but I will probably get rid of it or something.

I thought it was a very cute series. Rev.Doc did a great job on the overview, so I have little else to say. The series is enjoyable, if the whole goddess/reincarnation thing doesn't bother you too much, but they do seem to stumble over the vast number of characters in the series.

I do have to wonder about the devotion these animals show Goro, I mean I've never heard of one person going through so many pets before. What, did he get a new one and kill it off every month?

Sorry, off topic and not part of the show. I liked the dog girl the best. She really plays the part of a puppy well.

LOL yea I havent had that many pets! He'd be a scary owner >_<
