Ghost In The Shell 2
I SAW AN AD ON MTV TODAY AND GHOST IN THE SHELL TWO IS OPENING TOMORROW IN THEATRES!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

That is, indeed correct. Does anybody know how the objectionable content in Ghost in Shell: Innocence compares to the first Ghost in Shell.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.
Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.
But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. I saw an ad a few days ago saying it was coming out this friday which is tomorrow for me too, I got really excited... though that may only be in certain places... and with my location it probably won't be coming here first

I don't really care for Ghost in a Shell at all, but it's nice to see that anime is getting into theaters. I wonder what this will do for anime's reputation stateside, though ...

i really want to see it, but i heard some negative reviews somewhere. But i think it will be good. Critics are usually wrong anyways. But here in Austin it's opening up early on Friday Sept. 17th at the dobie mall. They usually show independent movies and animes that get released into theatres. I think i'll go see it this weekend.

I saw a trailer for it last year at our campus anime club; it looked pretty cool. Hopefully the club will get a chance to show it, since I don't want to have to go to Toronto in order to see it (the chances of it appearing in any theatres here in Steeltown are between slim and none).

Now that Ghost in the Shell 2 is out in theaters, has anyone seen it yet? Is there any bad content (cursing, nudity, bad religion...)?

Anything bad in it? I saw the first one and it had nudity and gory . . . wasn't too impressed there . . . but it is nice to see another anime getting some recognition in mainstream theaters ^^

Review, not a spolier:
I saw Ghost in the Shell 2 earlier today and it's not bad. There is gore but its only for a couple fight scences, not much. The nudity... ehh.... I wouldn't call it nudity, they're robots w/o clothing but it's not even on the line/close to "brief nudity." It's rated PG-13 so theres nothing too controversal. The graphics i would say are outstanding, it has a 3d feel to it at times and at times they actually look like real people from far away shots. Overall the story is good though very confusing. It took me a bit after the movie to piece everything together. Also due to the fact it been a long time since i've seen the orginal Ghost in the shell. I would recommend this title to anyone who liked the first Ghost in the Shell. But if you can't stand a lot of talking for plot development, then i wouldn't recommend this one. Overall I would give this movie a "B." Not bad.
Note: it wasn't dubbed, it was subtitled.

I saw it last night with a friend. First off I’ll just say the movie was excellent. I literally don’t see how Oshii could outdo himself anymore in respect to animation and storytelling after watching this. I won’t write a lengthy review on this or anything until I feel I for the most part understand the material. This is one of the movies you’ll deffinetly have to watch at least 3 or 4 times to begin to truly grasp everything.
If you thought Ghost in the Shell had alot of philisophical undertones this one tops it tenfold. There are quotes out the ying yang literally in almost every scene. The animation was spectaculr I couldn’t keep my eyes off it for one second. Most of the scenes have a CGI background with traditional cells on top giving it a very unique and surreal style. It was understandably hard to follow in the beginning, which I wasn’t suprised with, but it kept me paying attention for the whole thing.
After the events of Ghost in the Shell Batou is struggling to keep himself together after losing the Major. He is now teamed up with Togusa in Section 9 Police. There are cases of prositute cyborgs murdering specific patrants and then basically self destructing. Batou and Togusa are assigned to uncover the truth behind these assasinations and who is behind them. I don’t want to give away any details to the story, but yes the Major does make an appearance to deliver some butt kicking...in one form or another.
Anyway if you liked the first movie, you’re prepared to read,(it’s subtitled not dubbed)and think a little by all means go see it, you won’t regret it.

Wow... from those two reviews it must be really good. Man, I cannot wait to see it. I have seen part of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and really liked it. It is good to hear it is not dubbed. Thanks for the review!

A lot of games and movie are doing this now a days, and it's getting annoying and ridiculious. Game Deverlopers who are dumb as rocks, and out of ideas usually think that giving the game it's own language is creative. Too bad it's not, it's annoying and I'd like to choke them with a controler cord
Jet Li's HERO was an awsome movie, too bad they didn't dub it like crouching tiger hidden dragon. And I don't understand how Cowboy Bebop the movie was dubbed but Ghost in the Shell 2 wasn't ???
For one I don't know why you're brining up games in this it has nothing to do with the conversation. Crouching Tiger wasn't dubbed in any theatre that I know of and I have it on DVD but have never putting dubbing on. With anime dubbing is fine as long as it's decent, but dubbing with live action usually flat out sucks. I will never watch a dub live action unless it's something like my Bruce Lee collection in which case I don't have a choice.
This is nothing new Volt... Cowboy Bebop: The Movie was picked up by Columbia Tristar. On the other side GITS: 2 was picked up by small name GoFish Pictures. Ya see the difference... If you live anywhere outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, or any other very large city your chances of finding movies like these in large theatres is close to nil. There are usually smaller theatres that handle these kind of films such as independent, low budget, and foreign films.
