how many are there exactly. I got a collection that claims to be complete, but I'm not so sure it is. It has 12 movies: Spirited away, kiki's delivery service, castle in the sky, pom poko, porco russo (or something like that), totorro, grave of the fireflies, gundam wing (
juuuuust kidding folks
), princess monoke, whisper of the heart, the cat returns, on your mark, and nausica valley of the wind, but then I was talking to ally-san and she said that she liked ocean waves. are there more that are not on my list?

I think the title you're thinking is of is something like "I can hear the ocean." Or somethin' like that. I think that film was made before Gibli. Or it was made for TV or something.

I think its a rule that we don't discuss the legality or morality of fansubs and bootlegs. There are different views (even though I would no longer get a bootleg or fansub, I don't yell at people who do) and it causes fights...
In any case, Miyazaki is incredible... I've seen 4 of his films, and I loved all of them... Kiki and Totoro are very subdued, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi aka "Spirited Away" is in the middle, and Mononoke is very action packed and rather violent, but they are all beautiful films... Very imaginitive.
I hope to be able to see all of them.

Just mentioning it cause I knew there was a popular (bootleg) of all the Ghibli movies and couldn't remember if a real one was even released in Japan.
But one gooder not on the list would be Castle of Cagliostro. Dunno why, but it's a (Miyazaki) classic.

Yeah... Was that the first anime incarnation of Lupin III? I put it on my queue... I'm getting it after I finish Lain again (with some friends this time... If I can get anyone to SHUT THE HECK UP when they watch it... I can't watch that with just anyone...)

CoC was.... I think the second or third Lupin film... before that I know the first TV season passed, but not sure if thesecond season already finished, though. Don't think it did.
I find it a movie that I doubt any of my friends would like. Even if some are anime fans, it might be a bit.... blah for their liking. Dunno why I like it though, but I do. Tried watchign other Lupin TV/movies, but they just weren't the same without Miyazaki directing... (even if the 2 TV eps they released long time ago had Miyazaki working on them).

I really like Castle of Cagliostro, almost more than Spirited Away, in fact. True, it's not as ambitious or inventive as most of his films, but it's so much FASTER. I mean, I love Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, but they kind of struggle to keep their momentum going and practically stop before the climax gets rolling. But most of CoC moves so fast that it's actually a welcomed rest when things slowdown before the ends. (Castle in the Sky is like that too) It's also fun to see how many things Miyazaki borowed from that movie for his later ones.

I think one of Miyazaki's best films is Princess Monoke. Just the animation was beautiful and just where Ishitaka was taking this is what hate does to you is my favorite part of the whole movie.
