I finally got Jin-Roh Monday. It's just as good as I heard it was. I would reccomend it for anyone who can handle a somber, complex, anime. The storyline was very original, the characters and setting were believeable, and the themes were very provacative. The animation was very well done which isn't suprising coming from Production I.G. I'll write a full review of it when I get the time.

Ah yes, I absolutly loved Jin Roh. Shows how seious anime can be. I love the OST too. Bought the CD after seeing the movie.

Interesting Fact: ALL the weapons used in Jin Roh are GERMAN Weapons from the WW2 Era. MG43. StG44, MP40. MP41... etc...

Yeah, it's a great anime. I saw a website where they detailed every weapon appearing in Jin-Roh, it's manufacturer, and the history of the weapon.

Well it was pretty obvious at the beggining when you saw the occupation forces they were Third Reich German's.:P And everybody also drives Mercedes Benz and Volkswagens too.

Wow, I just watched it again, and I gotta say again, it's probably the only movie that made me think so much about the plot.

I've been thinking about getting this one for quite a while now...
Please tell me of any questionable content besides all the violence.

Can you be a tad more specific on the "gore" element? PM me if you have to...

I really enjoyed Jin-Roh. One of the best animes I've ever seen. However, my experience was slightly dampened because the dvd I rented was ruined in one place and I could only see video; no sound. Not even cleaning it helped. Oh well, the movie was great anyway. At least it was during a riot scene with no really important dialogue :)

Just shows gunfights that have a lok of blood and exit wounds, and also a scene with a pack of wolves devouring a women...

Jin-Roh is a very dark anime. Unicorns?

...They screwed up on the MG42 sounds though. And it'll appeal to virgin ears.

I PM'd the info on the violence to them already. There is no other objectional material the world's too depressing for any kind of sexual innuendo in the movie. I hope my review gets approved soon I want some feedback.:P

The unicorn thing was really a joke, because pretty much everybody knows I'm not much of a shonen connoseuir.

Hey Yojimbo,

I just watched it on Tuesday and to tell you the truth I didn't get it at all, and when the girl codename- "Langes Haar" (the girl Fuse liked) was crying in the tunnel, I felt no sympathy for her at all. I don't know why, I was like "you set him up and nearly got him killed and now you care for him... what?".

BUT, after listening to what the director had to say about it and the screenplay writer I understood the idea of man and beast and the little red riding hood thing. So now thinking about it and watching bits of it again i reckon it was a pretty good movie, I just didnt get into it asmuch as I would have liked. I guess I was expecting more gun play, but the stories about their relathionship and the gunplay more the backdrop for it.

But yeah, how cool is the opening scence with the riot and the score, that was a nice song. And there was heaps of german in there aswell which I liked.
I don't know why you guys were on the edge of your seats though... I was like :eyebrow: and you guys were all :o

You mean Kei. Well I don't think you neccesarily were supposed to. I mean they both betrayed eachother, but really I don't think either of them had a choice. The force was Fuse's life it turned him into a "beast." Kei wasn't exactly innocent either she was a "red riding hood" and delivered bombs to terrorists.

The riot and the fight in the sewers was probably the best scene I agree. Yeah if you noticed people drove VW's and Mercedes. The Special Unit soldiers looked alot like Nazi Stormtroopers and the regular police had Nazi style helmets. Also the german weapons I saw were a Mauser, MG-42, MP-44, MP-40, Karsk 98, and a Panzerfaust.

Well I wasn't literally on the edge of my seat but I was really anticipating whether Fuse was gonna go through with it at the end.

I think this is a movie you have to rewatch a couple times in order to "get it."

I saw that and I thought it was great. With the exception of the scene that my "brother" told me to hide my eyes during I thought it was excellent - very minima swearing, no nudity or suggestive content, and (save for the aforementioned scene) very minimal violence. What happened to my favorite character (Harry I think his name was) was a shame, tho...

At least we can agree on one movie, CDL, ;)

Yeah your right Yojimbo, their uniforms looked great , it remined me abit of the Space Marines/Troopers in the Warhammer games. And the characters looked really Japanese, definatly a great step forward for anime.

The screenwriter didnt really set out to do it anime aswell, but it was the cheaper option, and in my pov, more people will end up seeing it, that it is anime. I wouldn't have gotten it out if it had been live-action thats for sure.

I'm sure there are many movies that we could agree on. I happen to be an extremely harsh critic, and I acknowledge that about myself.
