:eyebrow: Weird-- seven volume manga is turned into a 52 episode anime. . . Oh, well, that wasn't why I made this thread.

I was just wondering if anybody knows if any US company has any plans to license this anime? Also, if anybody's seen it (which I realize there's a very real possiblity that no one has. . . ), could they clue me in on the content? All the hype Ashley's put inot the manga has gotten me interested in both the anime and the manga.

Thanks for any info y'all can offer.

yes, the anime was a bit...stretched out compared to the manga. >.>

I haven't heard if anyone is gonna license it yet or not, but I hope someone does soon.

as far as content goes, Full Moon is one of the cleanest uncut anime I've ever seen. the only thing I can think of is Takuto sometimes swears.

Swearing-- that's all? No women whose clothes explode, or short skirt-wearing police officers jumping over fences while they're being shots from a rather uncomfortable angle? My mind comprehendeth this not.

What did you you think of it? Most of the reviews I've read are raving, but I really don't care what they say about it. ;) What did you (or ya'll) think.

to be honest with you, I preferred the manga. the anime kinda goes off-track from the plot sometimes and has a lot of filler episodes. but it was still funny and cute.

I'm in the middle of the manga series right now, but I saw the anime before I ever touched the manga and it got me hooked. I agree with Shi-Hi, there ARE some filler episodes and the plot, while enjoyable, is a lot paler compared to the manga one. HOWEVER, don't let that stop you! The plot has some depth to it (and lots of surprises) and honestly, I never got bored with it.

And it was indeed, very VERY clean. The worst it gets is the occasional mid-drift shirt on Full Moon and Takuto, and the occasional swear from the aforementioned cat boy. But I don't even think his swearing was anywhere NEAR Kyo's level--maybe one or two words the entire series. Also, Ooshigie-san is a bit of a drunk, but I think it only makes reference to this once and it's not very positive.

I would say it's definately, definately worth checking out Mangafan. Gypsy and I planned on writing a join review as team negi-ramen, but we've just been missing each other a lot. However, I will make all the effort I can to get a review up by the end of this week ok? If you or anyone else have any more questions, please I'd love to answer them for you!

I feel-- sp ionadequate to do this. But since no one else has, I'll stab madly around at a synopsis and see if I can't hit something. *draws knife*

Okay, Full Moon Wasagas hite (the last two words go together, but I didn't want to get censored. . . ) is the story of a twelve year old girl names Misato(?), er something like that. Well, she mad ea promise to one of her friends before he moved away that when they met again she would be closer to her dream--to become a famous singer. Unfortuneately, throat cancer has stolen that possibility and it seems that she will never fulfill her dream. Or, so it seems until one day she meets two death gods, through whom she discovers that she has only one year to live. These gods grant her a way to transform into her 16(?) year old self and go to an audition.

That's the general that I've gotten from reading the first couple chapters of the manga as well as innumerable anime reivews. Hope that helps a bit Rec. Doc. If it has only confused you more, I'd be happy to perform a memory removal. ;)

Actually, no, not all of it. Clue me it, won't you?

(BTW, I'm takin' y'all's advice and looking into the FMS anime. I'll tell you what I think when I've seen it all. That'll probably sometime several months from now-- afterall, it's like 1200 minutes long.)

But you did see the neuralyzer, or as J says, "the little flashy thing"?

No, afraid I didn't. MIB is one of those many movies on my "This is the list of movies I should see but probably never will."

Yeah, that's what the people who put it on my list said. . .

This title sounds a lot like Fancy Lala...minus the throat cancer...that is Full Moon not Men In Black...which I did see...flashy thing and all. :eh:

Ok, a tiny synopsis that is but a preview of what Gypsy and I will post here very very soon:

12 year old Mitsuki (you almost had it right Mangafan) dreams of becoming a pop singer. She's made a promise to her crush, Eichi (who moved to America and wanted to be an astronomer), that she would find a way to become one so that when they met again they would both be closer to their dreams: singing and astronomy, respectively. But, Mitsuki has a bad cancer of the throat, and is facing an operation which would badly damage her vocal cords and ruin her dreams. That's when Meroko and Takuto (see me and Gypsy's sigs), two shinigami (translates to "gods/spirits of death", but really they're more like the grim reaper) appear and tell her she has one year left to live. They take pity on her and enable her to transform into a healthy, happy 16 year old body (a sailor moon, kaito jeanne, kaito saint tail or magic knights rayearth type alter ego). She uses this body to audition for a local "American Idol" type contest and ends up becoming an contracted singer named Full Moon. The series is about her challenging her fated death, following her dreams, and reaching out for her "true love".

There is of course a lot more to it, but if I wrote all that you wouldn't read the review now would you?
