i've seen the first 3 episodes, as far as i can remember (it was a bit ago) it hasn't got any dodgy stuff, its kinda weird but pretty cool, & the whole paper masters being able to manipulate paper stuff is a pretty unique idea, is cool.

It's been about a month since I've watched it. If I remember it does have some scattered mild language and just a touch of fanservice. However, the personalities of the "Paper Sisters" was quite amusing. I will have to watch it again to give you a better idea of content and I will try to do that today.

There is a HUGE review of the OVA in the Anime review thread. Along with tons of debates that took place on anything that was considered objectible. I personally love the OVA, it was uber cool.

As for the TV series, uh, I don't know. I've seen previews of it, it's interesting, but not nearly as great as the OVA. I liked the fact that each character in the OVA had their own special ability, however, in the series, ya got three agents whom share the same paper mastering technique, I don't know, it feels like the creator took the easy way out with the TV series. *Sigh* I don't think I'll get into it too much. I'm very content with just watching the OVA.

Still, you never know,it could get better with age. I can hope and dream.......

Definately check out the OVA though, it's very much worth it.

God Bless,
Archan

One of the drawbacks of a series like this would be the fact that it's not allowed to stand on it's own merits, but will constantly be compared to it's predecessor. It is very true that TV in no way is anything like the OAV. However, it's not supposed to be. The only link between the two is Readman (who is only talked about in the TV series) and her relationship to Nenene. Otherwise ROD TV is a series about the Paper Sisters and their abilities. It is better to take the two as different series with an occasional crossover.

Anyway, I watched the first volume once more. Throughout the four episodes there is definitely minor language scattered along with occasional gestures which some might find offensive. Fanservice is at a minimum. The most are seen I think with the opening song. The age rating is 13 and up and I think that definitely holds true.

With that said, the animation is excellent, often breathtaking in regard to the Paper Sisters use of their abilities (although I imagine an enviromentalist whould have fits about the amount of litter). Some of the funnier moments had to do with Anita's (the youngest sister) interaction with Nenene. Overall I give the storyline thus far high marks. It certainly kept my interest.

Again, as far as recommendation I would point you to the age rating and tell you to let that give you a good indication but be warned especially of the language.

I saw it just recently, never once viewed the OVA but nonetheless I must say it is now one of my current fave anime. The animation was beautiful, the personality traits of the three paper sisters really hit it off well with the main protagonist. Also, the dialouge was witty, and I might add even though I prefer Japanese language and English sub, the American voice acting was actually pretty good.

It's not too offensive, just some slight language and a little fan service, but nothing to cover your eyes about.

I bought the 1st volume of the TV series when Best Buy had their 20% off sale. I've only had a chance to watch esp 1-3 (I'm hoping to get to watch 4 either later tonight or tomorrow).

Unlike some other series I've watched, the RoD TV series gets right into it pretty quickly, and by the end of the 1st eps. you've gotten to see some pretty cool stuff.

The quirky personalities of the 3 sisters is really good too... and how Nenene and them interact is great as well.

The opening title fits the style of the RoD AOV... and I think the idea is to give it a bit of a feel of a James Bond type movie (that's the impression I got anyway).

I'm looking forward to Vol 2 to come out.... this is bad though, now I've got 2 series I'm activly collecting and a couple others that I want to collect.

Eheheh... Epsiode 13... didn't it have full frontal (female) nudity? They might have edited it when they did the episodes here, But you might want to watch out for that episode. I watched up to about episode 15 and I'll agree with the others on fanservice, bouncyness in particular.

ROD the TV... I loved that series! Its awesome. OK anyways, on to content.

I sorta gets a little worse as the series goes on, then it gets a little better again. I haven't seen the last bunch of episodes recently, but I do remember the onsen episode (yes, even in the onsen episode there was fighting :eyeroll: ) The plot gets amazing, so by the end I liked it better than the ova (I actually watched the ova after the series. Everything made alot more sense then  )

In the onsen episode there is some detailed nudity. Not sexual or anything, but the camera has a full view of her. Its not even artfully done,it's pure fanservice. *blegh* I can't remember any nudity besides that.

There's some implications of homosexuality in the series especially between Anita and her classmate, but at the same time they compare themselves to Anne of Green Gables and Diana like soulmates. So I guess its open to what you want to believe when it comes to them. I've also heard people say the sisters (and various other characters) are bisexual. Now, I can't see that very clearly. If you have a perverted sexual mind that twists everything you see to something sexual, I guess you could see that. But as for me, they just seem to have a very close sisterly bond. Not to mention they're very huggy....

The violence gets worse as it goes on, but I'm not really bothered by violence. ^_^ People die... ect ect. Judge for yourself.
Readman isn't just a name in the show. She comes out later. ^_^ She's very cool. Expect the return of other people from the ovas if you've seen them as well.
