Wow there's just SO many good things coming out now so I have to save up more money! If you're thinking about singles disks, you should really wait a bit, because there's so many goodies! Here's what I just added to my "anime to buy" list:

Inuyasha movie 1
Inuyasha season 1 boxset
Escaflowne boxset
Fruits Basket boxset
Inuyasha movie 2

I ALMOST bought the first volume of Fruits Basket, but since it's so much better to get it all and saving a couple of bucks, why not wait?? I mean, look at how much 9 volumes Inuyasha would cost compared to the nice just over $100 box?? I'm just going nuts with the prices... of course, no retailer seems to have in the Sailor Moon S and SS boxsets, so I hope I can get ahold of those somehow...

I have no idea why I posted this... I'm just... yeah... giddy^^

Furuba boxset where? I didn't see it advertised on Funimation's sites ...

I just want the box. I've already got the volumes. ^^

Sometime in November so if you can have time to save up around $100, which is slightly cheaper than the normal $150 boxsets.
(This info was taken of the animondvd's upcoming DVD section).

I was wondering when they would come out with InuYasha box sets! Even though it is definitely not one of my favorite animes, there is no excuse for not having InuYasha in your collection. ^_^

I can't wait for the Wolf's Rain and Samurai Champloo boxsets to come but that will probably be awhile.

Have you tried Best Buy? I seem to remember the SS boxed set last time I was in my local store, so they must have them in stock elsewhere, since my Best Buy is low on the anime food chain.

If Best Buy had a chain OUTSIDE of the US, then maybe I would. :/ And since I don't try buying off the net, I'm really strapped for places to search. My local comic store apparently doesn't even HAVE it on their "comign soon" list so yeah... (and they get in almost all of the new releases).

I do wonder about those $99 ones... most boxsets I remember being priced at around $149, and converted to about the same here in Canada... but hmm... I sure hope they'll stay that slightly bit cheaper!!

BTW: regarding new releases I'm so mad that the 3 new Miyazaki's won't be out until January now!!! :stressed: Oh well, gives me a bit of time to get more money to save up after all these boxsets... that IS if i can get ahold of them...

What?

Is this going to be a LE set or what?

Ack, edit:

I now know that the Escaflowne boxset will be in a brick case.

Most likely, not necissarily... Check the official disc count, and the disc count of your set... That's a good way to tell. I got a legit nadescio set off half.com. You just gotta ask the disc count before you buy. If they say "oh, it's a 4 disc set" and the official set has 6 (like in Nadesico), then it's a bootleg set. The thing is, the HK bootlegs usually try to cram more eps onto one disc. Now, this doesn't stop them from selling copied DVD's, however you can usually tell if its a home job, and then file a claim against them for selling you something other than what they promised, perhaps getting them arrested for selling copies in the first place.

(Sorry, I'm not exactly original here, but I had to agree with Shooraijin on this one.)

Y'know, Right Stuf and Anime on DVD sometimes offer boxes by themselves (AoD does this with contests, though). *sigh* Oh, well.

Actually I know a fact the .Hack//Sign set is a bootleg because the box set hasn't even been released here.

Inuyasha movies are coming out, huh? I saw movies 1 and 2 in Japan.

Inuyasha movie verdict: exact same as show: same jokes, same Kagome/Inuyasha interaction. but that's why I loved them. yay yay silly shounen shows!

There are a number good ways to tell if it is a bootleg/copy.

The number of discs is about 3 or 4 for a full series.
There are subtitles in Mandarin/Chinese/Cantonese/etc.
The box art looks strange or cheaply made.
Has any other logo in place of the distributor/maker. For example FX is a well known bootleg company that stamps their bootlegs in this manner.
It is region coded zero.
