There is (at least it seems to be) a new anime, which is a Japanese release only called Monster. I dunno what any of you guys think about the ethics of fansubs, but this anime seems to have some spiritual implications to it. In the first few minutes of the anime (in fact, right after the introduction) there is a passage from Revelation, except that where the word "beast" appears in the Bible, it says, "monster" instead. It's a good suspenseful anime, but what do you guys think about it?

Oh, I know this one! I am familiar to it. But I didn't know it was a show. I just thought they had a comic. I heard about it because the comics were translated in French. Sorry! (_ _)

Here is translation of the story summary (from french):
"1986. Kenzo Tenma is a brilliant neurosurgeon practising in the hospital: Eisler de Düsseldorf (Germany). Tenma is well know, he just saved the life of a famous opera singer... Promised to the beautiful Eva Heineman, the girl of the hospital's director, his future is well planned. Everything is smiling to him... Until the night where he meets two childrens, Anna and Johann Liebert, their parents were discovered savagely assassinned. In choosing to save the life of the little boy instead of the town's mayor, the doctor will lose everything... Love, glory and honor will be replaced by solitude, rupture and alcohol. Curious that the deaths multiply surrounding the childrens? Did Tenma could have he saved a MONSTER?"

I'm sorry that's not good. But it sounds like a horror story and suspense, no?
I don't know of the spiritual influences in the story. (_ _);; I'm sorry my post was useless!!

I attached two of the french covers!

I don't have a problem with the change of "beast" to "monster", technically speaking, those things in Revelation were monsters. o_0

They quote the Revelation verse at the beginnng that refers to the antichrist and his kingdom (the beasts), but so far (I've seen to episode 10 and I'll probably watch 11-13 today) it just seems like they put that verse in cause it fits the series, not because the series has anything to do with the Bible. But you never know. I think the series has 56 episodes. *shrug* I really like it so far. The animation is pretty, except for Eva *shudder* There's a manga and a tv show, and I've talked to a few people who've read the manga, and they say it gets really good. It'll probably get licensed soon enough

Edit: With the beast-monster thing... it could probably be originally translated from Jewish/Greek either way. it means about the same thing

Yeah, I agree. However, the more the anime progresses, the more it seems to move to more abstract themes rather than the originally concrete themes that could take place in real life. As for the character Eva, I'd have to agree with you on that one. As Yoda would say: "Mmmm... Raving lunatic you have become... huhehuhehu *Yoda laugh*
