How so?

Just the look of the characters...and Agumon's not-so-eventful return.

I LOVED Tamers because of that. The whole thing had more interaction with the Digimon and the humans, and not just the kids. It put in a whole nother level of complexity than the first two had.

Same here! I thought it was much more realistic and accessible than the other two, it was just so fun to watch. Never once has an English kids anime played all the way through and not insulted my intelligence since Superbook. It was good.

Oh, and for those who haven't seen Frontier, give it a chance for what it is! It's very good too, just...really different. *singsong voice* It has Crispin Freeemaaaan. ;)

With that extra info up there, I take it back, it sounds more like Tamers, but its got this weird Mega-Man addition too, I don't know, I guess I'll have to wait until it's dubbed in the states! :D

I got a chance to see some of Frontier subbed, and I liked it a lot. Personally, I'm more into fantasy stuff, so Tamers was my least favorite. This one seems to have various elements from all of its predecessors, so I really have no clue how much I will like it.

I'm really into fantasy, too, but there was just something about Tamers that had this real "awesomeness" feel to it, if you know what I mean. It was like, fantasy-like, yet in a real sort of way... or, something like that.

You know it would be interesting to look back on the Tamers' characters ten years later to see what happened to them.Probably Jeri and Takato are a couple by then.

*le sigh* I miss my Ken chan..... <3

Adventure and 02 were the only two seasons that really got me (actually, it was Ken himself that turned me from an avid hater to a fanatic in just one episode. It was sheer luck that I happened to land on that episode at just the right moment. It was the scene where he finally realizes the er of his ways.) After they ended, I really dropped interest....

Frontier was good though. If this new season is about them, then I'd watch it.

YAY, some people who liked Frontier *doesn't feel so lonely anymore*

I hope someone fansubs this season when it comes out. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get dubbed, since it's been awhile since Frontier finished.

Apparantly, Digimon Savers will be taking over Konjiki no Gash Bell!!'s time slot next month, which is ending at 150 episodes despite the fact that it's still quite popular.

What makes this interesting in the fact that Konjiki no Gash Bell!!(Zatch Bell) was the show that replaced Digimon Frontier a few years ago.

Actually, I'd be very surprised if it isn't dubbed. I mean, Disney still owns the name, so they're going to milk it for every penny it's worth, any new show that's any good is going straight to Jetix, because they're so desperate, and they recently did the short Japanese Digimon films, which seems rather pointless to me, so they'll probably be scrubbing their dirty mitts for Savers.

Alright, here's a V-Jump scan with a color look at the characters:
http://shiningevo.ultimatedigimon.com/temp/vjump_savers_feb.JPG
And yes...The character in the center is Masaru and yes...he is a guy...

Tohma is the blond-haired kid at the bottom-left. Yoshino is the girl next to him.

Also, Yoshino was revealed to be 18 years old...which is quite a step up from past characters...

Ah V-Jump and it's Digimon nostalgia...

Yes... I too am surprised that Masaru's male :/ One question: WHERE ARE THE GOGGLES?!

And 18?? Touma looks to be just her age :/ Then again, Digimon and the size of its characters have always been :/ I mean, Takeru looked 3 years old compared to everyone else being 10 in Adventure... and he was supposed to be 8?!

And 18, yes, quite odd, though could be interesting.

That may be a fault of the V-Jump scan actually. It looks like they proportioned the two to be exactly the same height.
I would think that there would be a visible difference in the actually show...

Then again, when boys hit their rowth spurt, they can get pretty tall, and many girls end up being not quite as tall, so it could be right. How old are the boys again?

Doesn't look like there's any news so far.

Speaking of no news, Newtype USA still hasn't acknowledged that Digimon Savers has even been announced yet. Way to keep up with the times, guys.

Hoping it's alright to post a download for a trailer of the show... it's the official one subbed by WPP^^ (Yay! They did something! ...now they better get back to the OLD series as well -_-')

Here as a BT (so need Bittorent to get it)

...after watching it there's only a warning of one minor cuss word... and caution of "Daimon Masaru" punching a Kokatorimon?! @_@... Oh my... This new "gogglehead" looks like one big bone-head if anything... just like his Geo Greymon^^ ...wow...

Since Disney has the rights to air the other seasons it shouldn't be too surprising if it comes to Toon Disney sooner or later.

I enjoyed the first episode. Masaru's an interesting change of pace from previous Digimon heros. I know, the over-exhuberant man of action is pretty much a staple of Digimon, but a flat-out delinquent thug is an interesting twist. I also love the way Masaru and Agumon refer to each other in Yakuza terms :)

Anyway, the show's looking pretty good so far. The new art style isn't really as distinctive as the old one, but it's pulled off well and definately helps the characters look older. I'm all for the stronger Sci-Fi direction, too.

I think you can find the first four episodes in Youtube now (I've only seen the first two thus far)

I dunno for me, something about the characters really bug me... already been through 167 eps of Inuyasha where it was all about "you wanna fight?" and then the new guy appears and seems to act like he's "all that" (which he is) and something about a narcasist who's actually right, bugs me even more^^

I dunno, I think this is a VERY odd season so far... I'm watching it, but pretty hard to really get into for me :/

I know, he's hardly an original character in anime over all. I just mean that he's a little different from other Digimon shows.

But speaking of the Masaru/Tohma relationship, someone must have been watching a lot of s-CRY-ed while creating these characters. They're a LOT like Kazuma and Ryuho (except that I like these guys better)

Well, I just finished watching episodes 1 and 2 on youtube. It's kinda seeming like they took the Hypnos concept from Tamers and expanded on it by making the main characters members. Agumon is pretty cute ^.^

I do like the fact that the humans are taking a more active role in the fighting, rather than standing to the side and yelling at their digimon. I really like the fact that the characters are older and the main female character seems pretty strong and mature. I miss the old art style though, it was slightly more distinct.

I still think that Tamers is my number one fave out of all the Digimon series. I can't resist a series in which the main character created his own digimon and Guilmon, Renamon and Impmon were awesome designs. Tamers just seemed to have the right balance between a childlike sense of adventure/discovery with the right amount of danger and seriousness thrown in. But on the other hand, Savers is feeling a bit more mature, which could have advantages.

Heheh, the digivices are now pokeballs. Very handy ^^

ok so i watched the first 6 episodes on youtube and i have to say this looks like a pretty decent anime. i wanted to watch the next episode but of course they didnt have subtitles for it so i decided not to watch it but if it ever comes the the US i think i woud be worth looking into :D

i did notice taht they had a lot of things from the old ones...like..putting augomon under the box...and how he loves to eat...and the first battle w/ the bird reminded me an awful lot of the bird that Ty's augomon faces for the first battle in the digimon movie...just little things like that.
