Son Goku from Saiyuki and Son Goku from DBZ is basically the same person. They are both characters from a Chinese legend about a monkey god born from a rock...
though I believe the Saiyuki manga follows the Chinese legend more accurately than DBZ...

The first name does come before the family name. So yeah, our fav. red-haired samurai should be "Kenshin Himura". I used "H K" when I started the post coz for some bizarre reason, "H K" sounds more cool.
That's my simple explanation. lol

lol, not that strange. Many manga artists borrow chars. from legends. It just happens that the makers of DBZ and the maker of Saiyuki chose the same character. (but I think Goku from Saiyuki looks much better...
