The americans are just being stupid and trying to copy the idea since anime is taking over the world. The shows have nothing in common like real anime's do (no long story line) and they are AMERICAN you cant have an AMERICAN anime!!! *goes insane*

Thank you for bothering to educate yourself on the current thread's post before blasting Americans.

Ink makes another good point. Anyway I think this thread is already getting old. I fear that it will turn into a big argument over what is anime and what is not. Let's not let that happen. You mods are doing a good job. I don't know why I'm saying that but I am.

Do I need to say more?
As far as I'm concerned there was not even one American involved in the production of Totally Spies!

The most logical reason why TS looks like anime, is because anime is very popular in France. The producers are likely inspired by this phenomenom.. like we are.

so....much....fighting..... :(

THEY'RE JUST DRAWINGS! Get over it. :stressed:

You might as well say with as much logic that Miyazaki is an American-animation wannabe because he uses more realistic characters instead of googly-eyed flat-faced anime cliches. What are you people freaking out about...it's not like Totally Spies is going to make people believe anime comes from France. :dizzy:

I agree. As long as someone has fun watching it, who cares if it's anime or not? ^^

and now I see you were being sarcastic.
*raise eyebrow* hmm.. tis french eh? I didnt know the french were obsessed with malls and makeup. and to be honest I really didnt have time to sit and read all your comments- so sorry o_o but this has been something thats been bothering me and my friend for a while..
What you say is true. As long as ppl will watch it, it doesnt matter. geebus. not to offend, but I'm amazed that that little sentance turned into a fight. hm. I wont explain myself for no one will care.
but you get my point. I'm sorry.

As silly as it might be, we should be HAPPY people are emulating anime. That means its gaining more acceptance, and that means we'll get to enjoy more of it in the future. ^_^

In my opinion, anime is a style of art first, and part of the Japanese culture second. I don't see anyone getting mad at the Japanese cartoons that look like Disney characters, so why can't we be influenced either? ^_^

hmm.. intresting perspective- I dont get what your saying about disney characters- you mean the big eyes idea? I dunno. there is something about the american society that I dont like- (not to offend)
and another thing I'm wondering, now that I know this show is actually FRENCH- if the french hate americans so much, then why are they making a show based on the american culture- or am I just showing my stupidity again..
I gotta say though, I start watching the show and hating it, but the power of the energy sucking chair keeps me watching it. I could see how some people would like it.

This could easily turn into a political debate. Let's not go there.

No it's not anime because it does not come from Japan, well that's what I think. But some anime is produced and made in france witch kinda clobbers any truth in what I'm saying. But in Japan Totoly Spies would be an anime but then again we don't live in Japan but the french thing leaves the whole it's anime thing still up in the air. That's my final answer and i hope I'm right.

Anyway there is no absolute proof that It's an anime Just like teen titans is not but some of it is made in japan. So I say it's not and that really is my final answer....unless some one can show some proof it's an anime. Anyway I'm banning my self from this topic before I offend anyone else. :banned:

I don't even see why were arguing about this... does it really matter wether this is anime or not? Its a kids show that has the same formula as every other kids show. Sure it might be great show to watch to waste time, but its something you forget about immediately after.

So much fighting over a cartoon. :eyeroll: Sheesh. Everybody hug and make up. :)

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

<Well, if that's the logic you're using, though, we should all tear down our art galleries since they're just shameless copies of anime/manga, too.>

And where'd you get that from?

The point is, no American could ever create manga/anime (by this logic), and since most of the galleries here are anime styled, and since most of the artists are American...you get my point, yes? Not that I agree with that.

And another point...eh, who cares anyhow. Just something else to divide us. Actually, since this thread has outlived its usefulness, it probably ought to be closed.
