Who said we're forcing our beliefs on them? Don't you know the Bible says to spread God's word? Plus, read Exodus and pretty much any of the first five books of the Bible. They all get the point through very clearly that magic isn't part of Christianity.

Oh, probably Kenshin and company.

Heh. Telling the gospel to nutjobs like Legato would be a job in and of itself.

I agree with Psycho Ann and Bob in that it is better to stick to realistic (or, at least, semi-realistic) worlds. Trying to convert people in fantasy worlds where the natural laws are different and/or Christianity doesn't even exist is not logical.

Careful Destroyer, that comment could easily turn into a Harry Potter fight.

Anyway, this is just a thread to post what Anime you'd go to as a missionary, not a thread for bashing.

LOL after seeing UC's post, I wonder how difficult it would be to evangelize to Sephiroth. He sounds like a pretty powerful but confused character too.

Witnessing to Sephiroth... hehe, I can imagine the One-Winged Angel theme slowly escalating until anything we're saying is tuned out XD Then of course he'll either hack us to death with Masamune or just disappear in a raging fire. Of whatever character I can think of and listed here, I come to the conclusion that Kenshin would be my prime "target". He's looking for redemption, got the whole pacifist thing *coughkindacough* down, and would see to be willing to accept open views.

"Himura-san, do you know that Jesus can give you the peace you always wanted and it doesn't involve getting an inch towards your own death and/or the death of your loved ones?"

"Oro!?"

Evangelizing to certain anime universes is just... futile. Try evangelizing to Piccolo for instance.

"Do you know that God gave His only son to die for our sins?"

"Why would I bother dying for humans? I'm not Kami's son, I'm am him in a way."

"... no, I didn't mean 'Kami', I mean 'GOD', the ultimate ruler--"

"The Supreme Kai? He has no son."

"Um... no I mean..."

And he'll might actually laugh when we start on the whole 'satan' business. XD

I was going to mention him. *gulp* I think it would be more difficult talking to him than Legato (I'm sorry! I don't know anybody else!)

Me: Hey there, um, Mr. Sephorith

Sephorith: :eyebrow:

Me: Um, so uh would you, uh, like to know about--JESUS CHRIST HELP ME!!! *runs away in a panic* :waah!:

Yeah, I would have to be really really super strong in faith to do that. :eh:

A little off topic but:
Seems to me Sephorith didn't "turn" evil until he found out he was "created." Is he really an evil man? Or a case of insanity? *shrugs*
I understand what you guys are saying about the "stick to the real world" idea too. As far as my "target" I would most likely approach Vash and/or Roger Smith. HEY! I'd approach Milly! I think she would be great for my first time, she's just so cheery all the time

EDIT: Sephiroth...Sephorith...Sephiroth...did I spell it wrong?? :eyebrow: Ah man, I did spell it wrong! :bang:...oh, I'm sorry...I'll just um...well nevermind :red: *walks away*

I would probably go for Faye. She's a tortured soul who was deeply affected by a tragic accident. She believes her looks are a curse to her and not a gift from God. Faye's been abandoned and conned by alot of people so she's intolerant of others. She desperately wants someone to be there for her and protect her even if she says otherwise. Yeah she could use God to give her some solice in life.

Why of course Steve :) No hard feelings

Okay, truth be told, I don't want anyone to get the impression that I witness to everyone I meet, because I don't. In reality I've only witnessed to one person so far (and that didn't go so well :red: ) I know we're just talking about fictional characters but I can't tell you how to do something that I don't know how to do myself. That question just came into my head while I was reading some of the posts.

I would argue that it is just as illogical to convert anyone in a non-existant world. Our purpose is to reflect ourselves, not create a logically sound premise, no? (And perhaps the answer to that question is no)

I like the idea of going to the Sonic X characters from the first post, personally. It's great! Especially considering the fact that in my Sonic fanfics they are Christians.

I'd go to Ominae and Jean from Spriggan, because they see a lot of terrible stuff, and because they're such hardened soldiers. Plus they could be great Christians since they're so strong and enduring. And besides that if they were Christians I'd be able to watch it, but let's not go down that trail of fantasy...

Also Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing. He was raised in a Catholic church, so he knows some things. And I think he'd be willing to listen to me. I even planned a fanfic once where he was a Christian and a pastor on the L2 colony.

Kenshin, along with some of his enemies. I'd convert his enemies because they wouldn't seek revenge against him if they knew hwo to turn the other cheek and forgive people for any wrong the people did to them. Kenshin would feel the burden of his service as an assassin lifintg, and he'd have an even better reson to protect people. Sanosuke has quite a few rough edges, but I think that he would actually take to Christianity quite well. The rest of the character would also be doing the good they already are, but for someone bigger than themselves. ^_^

I'm sorry for the thing about Cardcaptor Sakura let me clear that up. What I meant by that are the Cardcaptors are heros of that story so if some bad guys come along they'll need to use there abilities. Besides, its all fantasy. Fantasy characters can still be Christians. By the way kat Warrior where can I find your christian Sonic fics they spark my interest.

Really, is there ANY anime whose characters don't need Christ?

But anyways...it'd be cool if Legato was a Christian. Just cause I think he's kinda cool.

Here: http://www.netraptor.org Sonic fansite owned by a Christian, though the site itself is not completely Christian. Look me up in both the fanfic section and the fan art section as Kat Warrior. But I'll tell you in advance that my writings are based mainly upon the Arhcie comics. Or for the moment they are. The fanfic section was re-vamped and I'm still adding old fics, but after I finish my current one my ties to Archie Sonic verse will be mostly broken. Okay, I'm rambling now.

Details, details.

Actually, this topic brings up many bizarre questions (altering rules of reality theoretically does that most of the time). To preach to anime characters, you would by logic have to be an anime character. New rules of reality would be in place, and everything would be generally strange. Particularly if all these were just meshed together on Earth.

What is the point of the previous paragraph? Don't take this spiritual aspect of this too seriously...

Probably Inuyasha:

There's nothing really bad about it, just to reach out Inuyasha and all because he has a lot of problems and needs help spirtually and all. And all the other hurt people out there in that anime world.

And

Maybe in Wolf's rain too so there be peace between the wolves and the humans but It would make the show less interesting too. Same thing with Inuyasha.

Byes
a sad light shone
turning into wings that cuts the white darkness

shone upon by the cold sun
I had some limited freedom
the miraculous night cast by the mirror
started to remove my mask, my soul

on the other side of the collapsing wall
despair and hope looks the same
if there's a heart that's yet to be seen
lets head to the end of the prologue

in the world where the wind blows like a blade
what is it I should protect?
in a journey where I know one painful thing after another
I get closer to the true me

the fake light is disappearing
the true light is born
in these hands...

pierce through the night dyed in white
keep on creating a new era
create time with your heart
fly through the eternal white night

Yup.

Hmmm... well, let's see....

Spike definately. One thing that stuck with me after the end of Cowboy Bebop was how things might have turned out if Spike had found Jesus. I mean, he'd be the perfect convert! He lives with constant angst and regret from his troubled past, it would be interesting to see his life turned around by Christ.

The cast of Gundam Wing.

Kenshin. This one is the most obvious. It's sad that he bases his life around trying to make up for his past sins by doing good works; if only he knew that Christ could take away it all instantly...

The cast of Sonic X. (Get's fanfic idea and writes it down)

Tenchi. One of my favorite cast of anime characters of all time. (Except for Ryoko's *ahem* exhibitionism...) But that might be quite a challenge, with Tenchi's family running a Shinto shrine and all that...

The only one that would be hard I think is Ayame . . . so many issues . . .

Wolf's Rain, they need God so bad . . . it would offer some hope to that bleak world.
Sailor Moon, they all are so lost such as worshipping crystals and stuff . . . and Neptune and Uranus are another issue . . .
Cowboy Bebop, if they were Christians they would have a huge change for the better, their lifestyles are enough to need Christ.
Fushigi Yugi, all of the characters need to re evalute their lifestyles from Miaka and Yui to Nuriko . . .

I would have to say that if I could visit any anime world and witness to its cast; it would be the anime GTO. Boy, they just need all the help they can get.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I agree, good question. If we're talking Sailormoon, I think Rei might be a lost cause 'cuz she's already Shinto, and it probably runs in the family as far as taking care of the shrine. Grandpa might be upset if she did convert, but show him a cute girl and he'd forget all about it. Besides, he's got Yuuichirou, right?I think Hotaru-chan might be pretty difficult to convert too. Basically all of her powers are about destroying the world (SPOILER: she's the one who iced the Moon Kingdom in the manga to try and get rid of the Dark Kingdom). She could really use God, though, especially during the S storyline when she was being used by Pharaoh 90. Then she might not be so depressed, even if she was still the Senshi of Silence.
I'd also like to do something with Nakago (Fushigi Yugi) since he kinda got dealt a crappy hand in life...he wasn't really all that bad, at least in the OAV's, since he did help out the Suzaku Seven. Then again even if we're witnessing to anime characters, since most of the characters in Fushigi Yugi are fictional characters in that anime...ugh...headache...
BTW, the Bible only deals with humanity and how we are to live our life here on Earth, the Heavens aren't really mentioned. So you can't really rule out demons either...who's to say demons can't be forgiven for their transgressions and reinstated as angels? The Bible doesn't mention it because it isn't relevant to us...but he might forgive them (hey, he might've even given Lucifer a second chance, we'll never know).
I can't write a short post, huh?
