i would have to say the manga. i used to be a fan of the manga, but when the three year time span passed, i lost interest in it. the anime was pretty good, until they put a whole ton of fillers in the series, then i stopped watching it.

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."

After finally getting around to seeing some of the anime, I'd say the manga. The anime often feels like it's moving to slowly (same events in the manga are often meant to be done in a matter of seconds, though this is a common anime-from-manga problem).

Though as jon_jinn said, after the three-year skip it gets pretty bad (in many ways).

And just because you let us pick more than one in the poll, I'm picking both. =D

thats a tough call, i like both, the maga can be a bit sparse at times but it doesn't have all the evil filler guff. I'd have to say the anime though. and the filler is about to end yay! back to the story.

I like the anime better when there isn't any filler. So, right now I like the manga better. But overall...anime.

Personal preference would have to be the Manga. Unlike others I like the time skip although it did in fact get worse. The Anime(USA) is still good, I just prefer the scans I read. I can honestly say the American Manga is something I've never read and the Japanese Anime is something I've had little experience with.

Manga all the way. As others have said before me, the anime moves too slow and contains too many fillers.

I like the anime because I find that action is very confusing in the manga, but with all the fillers, I had to say the manga. Urgh, when will they end? I don't know why people don't like the portion of the naruto manga after the 2 year interlude. I think that the new part, while different, reflects a sort of maturity in the charcters that enriches them, while also remaining true to the themes of the earlier portions. Naruto's training and the results are pretty sweet...
