Youtube trying to get rid of anime episodes?

IF I ever watch fan subs.. I only watch those that are unliscenced and ones that I know I will buy when they are released in the US.

Like Aishiteruze Baby...I AM SO BUYING it when it comes out here in america...but I don't watch that many fansubs...it's wrong..^^;

ehh...my sense of legality is out the window lately. Nor I have seen those prices you're speaking of. Perhaps i'm looking in the wrong places, but still.

A lot of the box sets I have purchased are around $20-$40. I get mine from

They are the imported ones with English dubbing.

The manga that Animovies has is pretty cheap too; usually $7.49 per volume, and even cheaper per volume if you decide to buy an entire series at once.

At prices like the ones listed on those sites I suspect Taiwanese bootlegs. I'd check your discs for copyright info and brand marks. A lot of pirate discs leave that information off.

Any legitimate imports would normally be of a region code other than 1 or 0, (Region 2 for Japan and Region 3 for Hong Kong) and the existance of Chinese subs are not normally found on legit discs.

You have to be careful on amazon as well, sometimes the seller will not tell you that it's an import. I once bought InuYasha season one, and thought I was buying the Viz version, I was mad when I got to find it was an import.....

Actually, all of my discs have copyright information stuff on them, but what are brand marks? And I know for sure that none of them are bootlegs; I'd be able to tell if they were pretty easily. I haven't had any problems with the stuff I've bought so far. It all plays perfectly.

I believe Animenation or Robert's Anime Corner Store has a list of companies that produce bootleg DVDs.Pretty sure it's Animenation.If you're unsure if a company sells bootlegs then try the list of vendors at Anime Planet.They only list those companies that sell genuine licensed anime and manga and related products.
Noe:They also have good recommendation lists for various animes.
