Happy Lesson

I saw a couple of the early episodes of this series and liked them, so I'm thinking about buying some more discs.

Who can give me some info? Does the content level stay about where it is in the first couple episodes? I just don't want to pop it in and get a nasty surprise. :red:
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

I've seen the whole series (including HL Advance and HL Final, which havn't been licensced in the US yet)

The content stays pretty much the same through all the seasons. Their is one episode (episode 11.5 in the ADV release) that takes place at a hotspring so their is some fanservice there, about at the level of a Love Hina episode, but that's as bad as the show gets. Their were a few beach episodes too, so the moms are shown in swim suits and stuff. One episode of Advance featured a well endowed female theif who seemed to be a parody of Cutey Honey. Overall the show is pretty tame compared to most other "harem" shows (Tenchi, Love Hina, Mahoromatic, and Ai Yori Aoshi all have way more fanservice)

I think possibly the biggest problem people might have with the story is that *warning, MAJOR ending spoiler*
In the end Chitose ends up dating Mutsuki-mama. The age difference wouldn't really be a problem if they were just a normal couple, but the fact that she's his homeroom teacher and that she moved in with him for the purpose of being his MOTHER, not girlfriend, makes it rather creepy. Makes me think of all those teachers being jailed for having relationships with students. I also think having the two of them fall for eachother was extremly out of character and dumb -_-
Overall, I really enjoyed the series a lot, especially the last few episodes of season 1 as well as Final episode 1. Everything was going perfectly IMO, and then it all just flew out the window in the last two episodes :(. I hate the ending. I recommend everything up until HL Final episodes 2 and 3.

Thanks for the info. I had ordered the 2 HL Animinis for $1 a piece (which was a good way to check out titles you might have missed). Seeing that it was considered a harem anime by some and that Anime Network runs it in their racier late night block (the same one where they show stuff like Colorful), I wasn't quite sure what I was in for. But I was pleased to see that it was as clean as it was. (About the most risque thing I saw was Mitsuki in a tutor outfit, played mainly for comedic effect. If a guy fantasizes about that he might want to avoid it, but I didn't think it was anything too stumble-causing.)

And I'm glad to see that, aside from the obligatory hot springs episode, it pretty much stays at that level. Although it's probably still not something I'd want to show my 10-year-old cousin.

About your spoiler box...
Depending on how it's presented, I don't think I'd have a problem with that story arc as long as it wasn't implied that there was a sexual relationship. Personally, I see HL as a take on the whole "hot for teacher" concept anyway. However, I can understand how some people might be sensitive to a storyline like that, especially given some recent stories in the news.
Anyway, thanks again for your post. I may pick up a few more discs of the series.
