Since having worked at conventions for so long I’ve gotten to know some of these voice actors/actresses personally. You can look up on IMDB.com to see what they’ve done so I’ll simple tell you what I know about them.
-Greg Ayres – sweet guy! He does a lot of DJing as well, his brother Chris is really nice as well. They’re really funny guys and will stand up for what they believe in. When the hotel gave us some trouble at Oni-Con Greg was the first one to stick up for us.
-Johnny Yong Bosch – never been a guest at Oni-Con, but he’s always been really funny when I’ve seen him in panels and seems very approachable.
-Robert Dejesus & Emily Dejesus – I didn’t get to talk to them as much at Oni this year as I would’ve liked, but they were sweet the little bit I did get to. These two are a husband/wife artist team.
-Tiffany Grant – Tiffany was Asuka in Neon Genesis Evagelion and LOVES that character. She’s cosplayed as her and has a HUGE collection of Asuka memorablia. Tiffany likes to keep to herself somewhat, but really enjoys talking about her roles, especially Asuka!
-Mike McFarland – He was really nice and funny this year at Oni. He’s a little softspoken compared to some of the other VAs, but he was really easy to talk to.
-Scott McNeil – SCOTT!!! He’s the life of the party and remembers EVERYONE. He’s remembered my name at every convention I’ve seen him at – although it helps that I’ve dressed as Jean Grey from X-men Evolution, where he has done the voice of Wolverine and was his shadow for Guest Relations at Oni 2004 *shrugs*. He’s gotta be the funniest VA, but if you’ve gone to a few cons and seen his panels you’ll notice a lot of the stories are the same. But hey, gotta go with what works! He’ll always make time for his fans, even if his handler is trying to get him to a panel!
-Monica Rial – Yes, that is her REAL speaking voice. Her personality is just a kind as her voice would lead you to believe, she’s bubbly, fun-loving and loads of fun to talk to. She also remembers a lot of people.
-Jan Scott-Frazier – Jan’s nice and easy to talk to. She’s got a lot of things that she does other than VAing, you’ll probably see her at a booth selling Henna tattoos or whatever new endeavor she’s trying at this con. Always an interesting person to hang out with.
