Angelic Layer is easily one of my favorite titles ever. I loved it, and can't WAIT for the dvds.

Icchan go boom!

Never heard of Tokyo Mew Mew though.

I've almost bought Tokyo Mew Mew so many times, it's not funny - but I always ended up getting some DiGi Charat or Lodoss manga. I'm a big fan of Angelic Layer. I loved the mangas, but I like the tv series more. Have you seen any of it?

I've seen a couple of episodes of Tokyo Mew Mew my daughter downloaded from animesuki.com. It looks cute enough. It also looks a lot like Sailor Moon when the girls transform. I've read the Tokyo Mew Mew manga and they're pretty good too.

I noticed your avatar, she's my fav character from Tokyo Mew Mew, Zakuro right? Belldandy Mew Mew is a cute name too. Welcome to these boards if I haven't said it already, btw. :)

Angelic Layer I really like the anime more than the manga. The manga wasn't one of my favorites, but I still enjoyed reading it. CLAMP has such sweet characters - some times.

YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Angelic Layer is one of my favorite mangas, and I greatly enjoyed the first episode of the anime, which is all I've seen so far. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the anime though.

I've heard of Tokyo Mew Mew, but haven't read the manga yet.

I havent seen tokyo mew mew (or even heard of it)

but I did see the first episode of Angelic Layer.
(sorry spiritsword, but this is the truth!!)
I really didnt like it, maybe its b/c I havent read the manga, but I thought the voices were terrible- the plot was ok- it was sortof straightforward-
that lady that has the strong angel doll that the little girl looks up to is her mom, isnt it?! ((ack! spoiler!))
Unless it was just the promo dvd- they could've edited it before they sold it or something (highly doubted!)

No offence tho!!
((I just know I shouldnt be posting here!))

Yeah, I don't know how deep the plot is, it's more one of those fun, lighthearted, innocent animes (at least that's the way the manga was). But I have a feeling there will be some solid character development as the series goes on, at least I hope so--CLAMP is usually strong in that department, as well as in the visual/animation area (as you know, fellow Sakura fan). ;)

To me, Angelic Layer (the manga) is one of those that you read when you don't really want to...uh...be confused...no, that's not it... It's not really deep or anything; it's just good fun, more of an escape than something to make you think.

I am totally looking forward to seeing the anime! :thumb:

I just picked up the 1st anniversary Newtype with Angelic Layer on the cover. I intend to check out the series thoroughly and see if I'll like it. :)
